The Good in the ME

I love the idea of this,

I mean I personally know of 2 kids down the street from me, one Israeli and one Lebanese/Syrian,

both know where exactly they from, and never bothers either of them.......

hell even the parents get along just fine,

I suppose if you were taught to hate early in life, then you'll hate into adulthood easily.
so a initiative like this isnt such a bad idea,

even better would be a shared flea market, or a shopping district that jews and arabs can buy and sell quite easily.

When I was studying in England, a lot of my mates were dentists. Two in particular were very close and always together, a Jewish Scot and a German Palestinian (wtf!). They both wore their respective skullcaps a lot of the time, often walking together.

When I went for holiday to Scotland with the Palestinian guy and was looking for accommodation, the Jewish Scot offered us his house to stay in and called his parents to expect us.

We arrived at his parents house, it was all dark and scary (roll of thunder!!!). Then a light switched on and his parents, a delightful couple welcomed us in.

Only when we entered the house, we realised because of the tent pitched up in the back yard, and the candles lit all over the house that it was Sabath, and we had interrupted them. From the great hospitality we received, you would have not know it.

Was an eye opening and humbling experience.

not all jews are bad as some on myBB seem to think, im speaking to whoever is "3gee"
its all about the situation, and the nutjobs or either side that cause the hate that we see,

take away the nutjobs and crazies
and 80% of palestinians woudnt mind to work for Israelis, and 80% of israelis woudnt mind to be served by a Palestinian.

actually interesting fact, before the 1st intifada, many palestinians worked in Israel, and were very happy there!

all it takes is one nutjob that tried to run over a group of israelis at a bus-stop and the intifada started.

same thing could have happened here during the days of apartheid,

a white bus driver ran over a bunch of black mine workers and did it deliberately,
so this intifada could have happened anywhere!

its all situational, so this idea to give half price humus and falafel to jews and Palestinians is a brilliant idea......

next thing would be something more people would use.

Schwarma Company in Norwood is run by 2 Arab Israeli brothers. One of them got upset when I called him a Palestinian as he sees himself as Israeli.

Most of the tenants I have seen there are Jewish, and have seen them regularly conversing with the owners in Hebrew (not sure, but its definitely not Arabic)

They make the best hummus, will drive out there just for that

Maybe we should get them to run a 50% off for Jewish / Muslim tables! ;) :p
