So, i've discovered something interesting.

I had an account with a Prepaid data SIM and Uncapped Fibre. The Prepaid SIM was paid on demand, the fibre was paid via Debit Order.
One day the Prepaid Sim stopped working so I just stopped paying for it every month as I don't want the service.
The Fibre continued to be billed at R999 on my account via debit order.

Afrihost, in all their uselessness, suspended the account because I did not pay the Prepaid SIM. BUT they've suspended ALL services including the Fibre that they have been billing me R999 for successfully right up until this month...

Is it so hard to work out that if i pay for Service A and not for Service B, you cancel B but can't cancel A because YOU GOT YOUR MONEY for it.

I'm trying to login to pay now as i need my Internet bank but their website has disabled my account login - again stupid on your behalf since I'm TRYING TO PAY YOU. Nevermind that you've stolen R999 for me by blocking a service you successfully billed...

I'm so through with this ISP i'm cancelling the first chance I get. Its pathetic. Support is offline 99% of the time, phones after 5pm are closed...

You stopped paying. You didn't officially cancel. They are right to bill you.
These services are most likely registered under an account. So you can't differentiate and say they needed to bill you for fibre only and not suspend your account. One account, two services on account.

Afrihost's billing system is a nightmare I've seen the code.

It is possible that it’s linked to one account so not paying 1 items suspends all items including the ones you didn’t pay for.

It’s like when you don’t pay your credit card in time, your bank cancels your car loan and home loan right? Same account is debited so with that logic....

Your example given is not even close to your issue.

You have an account with a service provider. Your account has two services linked to it specifically. You don't pay one of the services, your account is suspended.

I can't make it easier for you to understand.
Your own denial may be the issue here.
Owning up to your actions is a choice. By not taking responsibility for your actions just leads to more problems.

Stupid Afrihost billing system.

If they wanted to they could have debited the SIM card amount and keep the services running.
See my thread about the fixed LTE migration.

Another negative thread for Afrihost

I don’t get this with other ISPs, accounts online, hosting services or anything like it. maybe you feel better accepting a flawed billing system, I don’t. thankfuly I exercise my actions with my wallet as I'll do by paying another ISP.

we’ve become too accepting of “the customer is always wrong” in this country

Based on the ideas above, if that happened to me I'd have wanted to test the hypothesis, so I'd have bought the minimum possible prepaid amount for the SIM, just to see whether (independent of the billing's being"right" or "wrong" and, yes, it sounds annoying) having a positive SIM prepaid balance might re-enable the fibre.

So now, the idiot brigade wants me to submit this form:

They want SARS Tax No, ID, ID Copies, Bank account names, statements and Details.
And ZERO information about how they're going to be protecting my data? I could be getting 999999 spam sales calls from tomorrow...

Clearly this company is run by a bunch of morons.
