The ingco / total power tool thread

Just a heads up. Stumbled on this checking out prices.

Interesting, I didnt know the batteries were compatible.
I have a few Ingco tools, they do the job just fine and the range is expanding pretty quickly.

I'll start buying tools again when I have a house with a garage again. Miss carpentry. Had a couple of battery tools, but because I couldn't use them mutch the batteries don't last. So now I just buy cabled stuff

I bought the Impact Drill set and a circular saw a while back, and I plan on expanding with a 4Ah battery and then getting the grinder, multi-tool and blower soon afterwards.

Yep... the buggers changed the price after it went into my cart!

...and sanity check, I had just messaged my son in law about the "special" at about the time I put it into the basket.

Takealot are well known for dodgy stuff like this, if enough people view an item then the price automatically goes up.
It was proven in another thread around UPS's a while ago. Sneaky bastards.
On a side note, Vincent hardware has quite a nice range of Ingco and often have good deals on them.

Well, I am looking for a "good" planer (not a hand planer) . But was hoping to find something that doesn't cost 10K.

Something like this:
www.takealot.com/ryobi-planer-318mm-2000-watt-silver/PLID38160022
Lunchbox planers are stupidly overpriced for what they are. They all snipe, they all suck a bit but also get the job done.
This is the one I would get through, it at least has a digital depth gauge and the blades are cheap to replace. I spoke to a guy who has a carpentry business and he said the Adendorff ones lasted a lot longer than the Jet and Makita he has previously bought.

I would most probably order one as well as 1 or 2 extra blades, well when I get to it. Got some nice wet timber in Midlands. It dried really nice and straight. Now it just need some plaining. And planning to get a whole lot more.

I also have a bunch of hard wood planks I collected over the years that I keep for my very special projects. So they all need 0.5 or so plaining.

*Edit2* - just discovered I had it open on another tab - I had one in the cart at the time

So it's totally cool to change prices while I shop, but NOT cool to change prices while they're in my "basket" IMO. Takealot, take note.

Please correct me if i'm wrong, cause i've gotten mixed results in my searches. but i did see takealot reviews which confirmed it.

The drills with a black ring between the torque setting ring (SIlver) and the body, these have hammer as that black ring is the selector.
i.e https://www.takealot.com/total-tools-impact-drill-2-x-2-0ah-1-x-charger-and-carry-case/PLID73068947

But these others do not have hammer.

How well do they work?
The Makita version by all reports is great, same as petrol the only limitation being the battery runtime.
It works pretty well for smaller trees and such
I've used it to cut up a few hardekool branches and roots, though I did replace the chain with a Stihl one

I was really impressed on how well it handled hardekool

CAT power tools are finally in the SA market
They are not as cheap as Incgo and Total but still damn good prices

The sellers determine the prices, not Takealot. Even if they did, do you really think if one of millions of customers puts one of their millions of products in a basket they will changed the price for everyone just to make and extra R150?
