The NPU(Neural Network Processing Unit) inside Kirin 970 has different structure with normal cpu, which can learn, and also identify 2000 pictures per minutes

For example, when users are taking photos, Kirin 970 can identify objects inside the photo simultaneously

Also, if you are taking photos of a landscape, Kirin 970 can identify the brightness, objects and the camera position to change the mode of the camera

Is that really AI? sounds more like AR
Everyone is throwing the term 'AI' around. Here's the spec:

The chipset has a dedicated neural processing unit (NPU), and was built using a 10nm advanced process with 5.5 billion transistors contained in an area of just one square centimetre.

The Kirin 970 mobile AI computing platform is powered by an 8-core CPU and a 12-core GPU, which Huawei said delivers 25x greater performance and 50x greater efficiency compared to a quad-core Cortex-A73 CPU cluster.

Also, NPU abandoned Cloud, which means the phone stored all information in the chipset, therefore, the phone can be intelligent without WiFi

What you described in previous posts doesn't sound much like AI. if it's that rudimentry then my s7 edge has AI since it can focus on a person's face while that person is moving
That is only an example of AI on photography, AI has more functions

Can your s7 tells you the breed of the dog when you are taking a photo of a dog, or tell you where are you by identifying the landscape photo you took

I mean, most of new smart phones have AI, however, because their CPU structure cannot handle those data analysis, and their CPUs become hot or disabled therefore, they need a cloud for AI analysis then transfer the result to the CPU, which means they need WiFi for AI services

New Huawei NPU is designed for AI, the chipset can analyze a massive amount of data without any wifi
