iphone 5. the font on the email is almost unreadable after the update. think its now rich format or something other then plain text. can i go back to plain text??

I use Outlook. Works lovely with gmail and iCloud mail and calendars

With the update to 10, I've lost all my keyboard text replacements which I had set up. A real shlep to go add each one again.
BTW this on a iPhone 6.

Mine, an iPhone 5, does it at 80%, when I run the battery life app it shows a very unhappy battery.

Removing the sim card and rebooting it a few times seems to sort it out.

You might want to consider doing an iTunes restore and reinstalling the firmware in full via a pc.

It's a symptom of not having any manuals.

When I got my first iPhone (about six months ago) I pulled it out the box and used it. When I want to do something, I google it, but there are many, many features I don't have a clue even exist because I haven't wanted to do that badly enough to google it yet.

Open Safari.

There is a Bookmark for the User Guide pre-populated.

A small OTA only updates the bits in the update, if you have a problem outside of the updated bits it could well not fix it. You could do an iTunes back up, do a restore with the full .ipsw and then restore the back up. Other than the time to do it you shouldn't lose anything.

Anyone here having an issue their contacts not syncing correctly with Google since the update?

I've tried just about everything, my Google contacts sync fine with my iPhone but my phone contacts are are not syncing with Google.

The standard add Google account under Settings -> Contacts -> Accounts seems to only sync in one direction, Google Contacts --> iPhone
Setting the default account under contacts to Gmail doesn't help.
Creating a separate exchange account to sync with Gmail doesn't help.
Creating a webDAV account to sync with Gmail doesn't help.

I've now run out of ideas.

Yup...formatting of threaded mail in particular is very poor in iOS 10.

Bossman of iDB shares the same opinion as well

And one still cannot select multiple photos to attach to an email, once in the "Insert" dialog...I mean really...why do you still have to do it one by one??
