The iOS 10 Thread/Discussion

On the iPhone 6 that only works if you wake the phone first (click home or click power or if the phone has woken up by a notification), at least on the one I have in my hand.

On my 6S, it wakes and unlocks, if I rest my thumb as I pick it up.

I can't remove the beta profile from my iPhone 6 on 10.0.2. Can't find the profiles... is it only me?

Not there in Settings - General - Profiles?

It's there in a device with the Dev profile but not on one using the normal profile.

You have to select this in Accessibility...

Yes so you are enabling the old iOS9 style of Touch ID.

Nothing special there and the phone needs to be awake for that to work without clicking a button.

Yes, but it works as it wakes when you lift it. No clicking of any buttons needed, which is what Dave123 says he has to do.

That only works on devices with M9 coprocessor, 7, 7+, 6s, 6s+, SE, not the 6.

There's an extra setting to use this:

Called "Raise to Wake"

"There is a little known feature included in iOS 10 called Magnifier. It essentially turns your iPhone’s camera into a magnifying glass of sorts with a custom UI specifically for easier reading.

It’s hidden in Accessibility settings, as the feature was designed for users with vision impairment. Here’s how you can enable it."

Yes but he action of LIFTING doesn't wake the phone.

Which is what it does on the 6S and higher.

So the phone needs to already be awake or you need to press something to wake it.

Personally a non-feature to me really.

It is really useful if you have a 6s/7. You can pick up and check notifications without any further input and should you want to go into the phone it's as simple as laying your finger on the touchid.

Yeah no I'm sure if I had it would be quite transparent.

But the reality is my muscle memory clicks the home button as I pick up my phone.

So it would probably take weeks for me to even notice that it's already awake from lifting it.

Loving iOS10. Good features, the best being to be able to remove some bloat ware, something "android" does not have
