The iPad 2 availabitiy thread

so the bastards placed you on a waiting list? I think I should have a chat with the store manager!
 
I'm using this as an experiment to see how many of the places I'm on waiting lists come back to me
 
Anyone else see the iStore ad about the iPad2 being 'here' in the Sunday papers? Is this a good sign or do you think these guys like tormenting us?
 
Well I just walked in and bought my iPad, last week. Guess I was lucky, I was expecting stock to be tight. They will be getting new stock on a regular basis so just keep checking back I guess.

Ah .. that and the 32gb seem to still be available. I want the 64gb 3g model. Thinking it might be a better idea to wait till the iPad3, should be available soon if history is anything to go by.
 
Sorry that you can't get the one you want! Interesting little fact I read: the most popular iPad is the 64gb 3G 2nd most popular is the 16gb Wifi, the most expensive and cheapest models. Seems like people go with an "all or nothing" approach.

16gb is plenty for me and I can tether to my phone for 3G. But I certainly see the appeal of the 64gb 3g!
 
Phoned the iStore in Gateway, they have no idea when they'll be getting stock but they took my name down (no mention of a waiting list or anything). Then I also phoned DionWired Gateway, where the lady said a month and a half.
 
Dion Wired at Woodmead has stock. Put my name down yesterday and received a call today saying that new stock has arrived. Got 2 new iPads :D (white 16 GB 3G and white 32 3G). I've had my name on the list at the sandton istore for 2 weeks now so I'm very happy with the Dion service (maybe I just got lucky).
 
Phoned Woodmead and was told no stock. Been on the Somerset west dionwired list for 3 weeks now with no luck :(
 
Boksburg retail park incredible seems to have gotten stock today, my mom picked up her 32gb 3G iPad 2 on the way home
 
*bump* No news on the next shipment yet?

I wonder if it would be worthwhile phoning Core themselves or do you think I'll get the same clueless answer from them?
