The iPhone 12 could have no notch

That would make it useless to me. I use one of those silicone bumper cases that wraps slightly around the edges of the phone to protect the front from drops. It would then be wrapping over the cameras and they wouldnt work.
 
Isn't it amazing that we spend so much time, money and engineering effort on making devices that we can use to take photos of our faces?

Indeed. It would be quite something if someone released a phone with no notch. Especially if that display was 90Hz. Oh wait.

As someone who literally never uses the front camera, having it stowed away is absolutely perfect. The in-display fingerprint reader means you just pick the phone up with your thumb on the screen and it almost instantly presents the homescreen ready to use.
 
I hope if this happens that @Bryn will commit to buying it on launch day since this is his biggest concern.

Depends on the new MacBook Pro. If it's 4 more years of crap, then I'm not interested. If it's awesome, then yeah, I'll probably dive into a pool of apple juice completely.

I have always liked Apple's rhetoric at their events. Their ideas of beautiful and premium hardware, software and services in a secure, integrated environment are obviously very nice. I've just been waiting for them to actually pull it off.

- New Apple Watch is finally looking viable
- Next year's iPhone should be good
- New MBP could be killer, announcement is supposedly quite soon
- New iMacs can't be too far off. It's been a century now.
- iPad Pro has come a long way. Properly solid.

So things are moving into position. But the two most critical pieces, the phone and computer, are still not worth the money to me. I'm never returning to a giant notch. The slim MacBooks are a joke, the MBP is a joke, the iMac is a joke (HDD-only in SA alone justifies them being useless), iMac Pro isn't expandable, I don't need a Mac Pro, Mac Mini could have been epic but pricing is a joke etc. etc.

Huh?

And expandable in what regard?
 
Never buy the first version of an Apple product in which they introduce either the product itself or a major change to it.

See examples:
Apple Watch
iPad
Macbook Pro with butterfly keyboard (*)

(*) I guess the butterfly keyboard took about 3 generations to get right.
 
Am I the only one that thinks the iPhone 11 Pro are actually better this year, than in the past?

In a single generation, they've closed the gap that Android have held for years
 
I would assume this will happen. Surely they can manage to shrink the front sensors for Face ID in 3 years. I do wonder how capable the front camera will be if it has to fit into the pinhole space on the top bezel.
