iPhone 16e vs R16,000 Androids — The winner is clear

Apple's recently launched iPhone 16e does not offer good value for money compared to its similarly priced sibling or Android rivals.

The iPhone 16e is positioned as a lower-end offering but is a far cry from what can be considered "budget" — not only in South Africa but also in Apple's home market.
 
Who was the winner? It wasn’t particularly clear. iPhone 15?
 
How long until we see 'smokes' ... and benchmark tests
 
Lol apart from the Samsung Galaxy S24 the iPhone smokes all of those...

The S24 should get Android 15 just in time when Android 16 launches lol. I'd gladly pay R600 extra for timely updates for 10 years. Nevermind it looks like even esim is a hit or miss on the Samsung. Will you actually get it? Nobody knows. At least with the iPhone I can be certain it comes with eSim and Apple Pay.

It's pointless to you. Not to me and everyone else that care about getting updates for years to come.

I look at cost vs performance or bang for the buck,

apple is clearly very expensive in SA and with its heavily restricted systems, unusable in many situations one might need it,
Ive said this before, but you cant compare apple phones to anything else, as they are their own thing that is restricted in many things.

also Android is catching up nicely,

Updates to what though? The number change? Cause with every update they strip something from the phone, so are the updates for? Security? Or what?

Tell it to people at the office still using an iPhone XS or iPhone 11. How many 7 year old Android phones do you still see in use?
