The Iranian election thing is kinda weird. Been watching it for past week or two(prior) and it seems to me that there is no way to tell really how much support there really is for the opposition. I mean a picture is worth 1k words.. but is it really the right picture?
e.g. what % is really protesting? I mean all the media(state doesn't allow) reports are from amateur vids/youtube, twitter etc which is not independent or verifiable & then like i said.. what are the numbers really? is it 10%, 35%, 50% of the populous? I mean before assuming the one side(though it looks like the votes were rigged), look at the other.. what if its 35% of the people trying to force their way on the others?
Something to remember is this.. the reformist opposition was extremely quick to announce his victory without actually having anything to back it up. I am beginning to wonder if things really are as this guy claims..
I like the fact that Obama is being pragmatic and well pulling a Mbeki diplomacy
because revolutions are best when the people do it themselves.(I think he knows better than e.g. Bush who would've been calling to jump in a tank and go 'liberate' the people and their oil already
