Hey
I am looking for an isp that can provide me with 2 things
1) good p2p speeds
2) low latency on gaming

I am looking into either OpenWeb's 3gb unshaped account or FrogFoot's 3gb unshaped account

I have already heard allot about openweb from the forums here and from what I have read it is a very good isp
Does anyone have anything to say about FrogFoot becuase i would realy like to compare the two.

Thnx

Never heard of Frogfoot.

As for Openweb, they use IS lines anyway, so I question the point of unshaped unless you're playing international games like WoW, in which case you shouldn't be getting IS.

My international p2p downloads go as fast as my line can download on HTTP, or anything else, and it's not one of their specifically unshaped options.

IS is unshaped by default, but it uses satellites, so it's international latency isn't great. But local is the same as everything else.

I'd get a regular Openweb line unless you want to do international gaming...

Thnx mate!

So let me just get this straight if i get say a normal 5gb acount from Openweb will i be able to play games on the SGS networks with a low latency, aswell as download international p2p such as torrents??

gspott, if you search these forums you are sure to find endless threads on these sorts of things. The lack of response from MyADSL members to your post is probably because many of these things have been discussed to death in recent months :)

Do a simple search and browse around if you need more info and no one's responding. It's all here somewhere.... :D

gspott, the local net is unshaped, only when your data goes in or out of this wonderful country of ours does it get shaped. The reason for this is that Telkom is very tight-arsed with our international data cables that we and our parents and grandparents paid for.

For all intents & purposes all SAIX accounts are equal. If you're looking for lots of local bandwidth, go for the OpenWeb accounts or if you really have to, get a TelkomInternet account, they're soft capped. But be warned, once you've signed up for the account getting rid of it is like... well, there's nothing like it. They make it almost impossible to cancel the account.

Hope that helps :)
