The Jawbone Up

Ben Kelly takes a look at Jawbone’s latest health monitoring gadget and iApp combination – The Jawbone Up bracelet.

You will need an iPhone? Makes it a bit more expensive :/

cant wait to pop this in my girlfriends nighty while she's sleeping. o_O ... :D

Ja, I dunno hey. I saw the launch article on Engadget and I wasn't convinced, and after reading this I am still not

I see a lot of married folk buying this, and no, not for the wife panties. Lately my wife has been biatching (OK, just being normal) that my alarm has been bugging her when it goes off at 4:50am. This device would be awesome.

Your wife is secretly trying to tell you to resign from the job that you must wake up that early for, and then spend the day sitting around at home earning no money and making her go out and bring home the bacon. OBVIOUSLY.

not :(

I'll hold on to my cash until a more refined version gets released.

Actually the irony is that she is the one that use to get up at 4:50am :) and I use to get up at 8am

Some of the claims made for this device reminds one of the "But wait!, there's more..." direct marketing seen on TV.

As someone who tracks lifestyle type gadgets, I'm not convinced. For example, would love to see the iPhone app that can tell you energy (Cal) and macro nutrient (Carb, Prot, Fat) percentages simply from a photo.

Gadgets have made it much easier to track and manage a quality lifestyle (a simple food diary on your smartphone is probably more important than 30 minutes in the gym every day), but someone this one seems to make too many claims.
