Back when they only had 3 channels and they were all good. and it cost R95 per month.

They never had 3 channels, they had mnet and csn. Supersport and ktv were broadcast on mnet

Mnet decoder = analogue tv signal

Dstv decoder = digital satellite signal

Ads are great - we all need to p33, get another b33r, more biltong etc.

There was an in-between period in 1995, before they launched DSTV, where they did digital terrestrial broadcasts under the Mnet brand which had some of the DSTV channels. You could only get it with the Panasat pace 500 decoder.

Short story is for about 6 months, you could get the core of DSTV as Mnet prices. When DSTV launched, they started grandfathering people into it.
