There's been a few threads of spikey latency since Monday. The problem has continued for me.
In a nutshell, I have an unshaped 4gig Telkom account. On Monday latency shot up from its usual 400ms to above 1200ms, sometimes reaching 1800ms. Latency was also very spikey. The problem of spikey latency has continued through to last night, although the indicated latency seems to have eased to 400ms, making WOW unplayable. I've checked addons, including disabling all of them to check if some of the lag is UI-related, but this didn't help. The WOW patch is downloaded, so it cannot be a problem with background downloading. The Telkom Internet helpdesk is clueless and I'm still waiting for a Telkom technician to get back to me. I don't know anyone at SAIX that I can call to find out if there's some sort of problem with the unshaped backbone. Any of you guys know anyone that can help or have a clue as to what the problem is? I reside in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town (Kenwyn, near Kenilworth) and it seems that others who have had a similar problem live in the same suburb.
