The LONMIN share price thread

Not feeling very confident today, specially with oil/gold dropping, dollar strenghtening and FED meeting tomorrow. Will have to monitor Lonmin very closely today and get out before it tumbled downwards. Unless it continues being Lonmin by growing while everything else falls in the background.

Yeah, this is Lonmin after all and everyone who's had the pleasure/displeasure of trading Lonmin knows that it dances to its own tune. That's just how Lonmin rolls :-)

lol got out @ R34.30, still made an ok profit. Hopefully it drops alot more so that we can buy in cheap later :D

LON is looking pretty flat since this morning's drop. When are you planning on buying in again?? I'm considering buying in now (-6.6%) with a 2% trailing stop. Very much on the fence though.

I'm waiting until Thursday morning, not buying anything until the FED has released their crap Wednesday afternoon.

Might actually wait till Friday since UK and Switzerland(or was it Sweden) also releasing their crap on Thursday.

Fck I want to sell so badly

Next major jump in the green I'm out. Guys make sure I am out. I don't want to be in this love hate spot

Sold everything today. DSY at R110 (bought at R121 :-(((), HAR at R55.99 (bought at R52.70), KIO at R85.10 (bought at R103 :-(((() and LON at R34.20 (bought at R33). Down R5k on my initial capital thanks to a really bad KIO trade and a 3 month long DSY trade. Will start afresh on Thursday or Friday.

Harmony up to $3.64 on the NASDAQ which translates into R58 versus R56 on the JSE. Potential upside of another 3.5% tomorrow

What is making the Harmony stock so beastly this year?

Gold price is up 15 odd percent this year largely due to global economic growth concerns and interest rate cuts (US being the anomaly for now - likely to keep interest rates flat until at least the middle of the year). Generally when there's global economic concerns people turn to gold for safety.

Then the whole Zupta affect on the Rand has compounded the whole scenario as well. Most Gold producers in SA have Rand based overheads but their earnings are Dollar based which will obviously result in huge upside in earnings.

Thanks for the tip! I'll monitor it early morning and perhaps get back in. With a bit of luck it'll first take an early morning dip like it did yesterday.

It seems the FED meeting will span over two days, starting this afternoon and finishing in Yellen giving her speech Thursday.

Still not touching anything until Friday :o

Please oh mighty Lonmin defy rational thought and basic economics and go on one of those 30% a day sprees

Everything is just looking so juicy at the moment!

Think I'll buy a few bob now and see how it goes tomorrow :D

*edit*

Ok, just threw it all at KIO/ARI and LON

Hopefully I don't regret my decision come tomorrow....
