The LONMIN share price thread

oh... hahaha! So from what I see it's (https://www.fnb.co.za/share-investing/share-investor.html):

Minimum account balance: R200
Monthly fee: R49
Transaction fees per trade: Brokerage of 0.6% of trade value with a minimum of R80 per trade
Exclusive of VAT, IPL, STT and STRATE charges*

Brokerage fee*: 0.6% (min R80) plus VAT
Investor Protection Levy: 0.0002% plus VAT
STRATE Settlement charge: 0.005787% (Minimum R11.58, maximum R57.87) plus VAT
Securities Transfer Tax (on share purchase): 0.25%

But i can't see the breakdown like you have it, but again, i'm a complete n00b with this on where to click, what to look for. I don't think that is a bad price comparing EE and also with the issues some people have on EE (http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/637974-Easy-Equities-good-or-bad/page54) that I wouldn't even know. I also have the Share Saver with FNB and am really happy with that, so this makes sense to me seeing as I don't know the first thing about shares etc. (or is that a lot to pay for the Share Investor?)

There is no issues on EE, they re hauled and revamped the thing and also corrected all the funds I got a hefty "for your troubles" payout

The might Lonmin strikes again, I have 1800 odd at the moment with options to purchase 47,000 @21.7c. I bought them at between R7.87 and R3.50 but then sold 50% of them when it was past R8 ( profit taking to cover my risk ) I now wait and watch and see what happens. I have until the 7th of December to use the options.

The pay out issues is a one time thing and it has been rectified as far as I know. Was related to dividends.

So from the above you can see that you are paying R49 per month and for that R150 trade you'd pay 0.6% brokerage (min R80) = R230 excl. other costs.

So, those R150 worth of Lonmin shares would need to shoot up and grow by 55% before you covered your costs and break even vs the 0.6% it needs to grow to cover the costs on Easy Equities. THAT is why EasyEquities is better in this regard (even if they do miss a pay out you'd still come out ahead because of trade costs).

So now you know.

I think i'm just one of those paranoid people who always worries about adding my bank details, and you need too, to open an account. But I suppose if it's the better the option, then it's worth a try. It does say "have you been referred? enter your referral code here" so if you have a referral code (which i'm sure you'll get some kick-back from) then you can post it and i'll use that

The things I'd do for R50...

I'm trying to register on EE.

My FICA status says [unverified]. Do I need to upload additional info or does it take a while for my docs to be verified?

Takes a while you will either be activated within an hour or a lady will cal you to manually confirm the details and then confirm it.

Thanks guys. I've been planning putting a few rands into EE monthly. Now seems like a good idea to start.
