The LONMIN share price thread

The consolidation of the shares to make it less 'volatile' will already ensure a drop in the value of your shares. As for historical data, looking at Lonmin the past 8 years, it is clear the company is falling. Lonmin has not fallen suddenly, something from which it can recover, but its fall has been gradual, indications of a company in trouble. In fact, it has fallen so much that there is virtually no more chance for it to recover. No serious investor will invest in Lonmin for the long run.

From what I understand, if the rights shares are bought, they will have enough money to continue for 3 more years?

Yes, but I have serious doubts about their current management. Something many people had concerns about the past few years. These guys are pissing out money almost at the rate our corrupt government is doing and they have nothing to show for it. Not only that, but they face a number of other issues that they have no control over.

Lonmin will not last this long.

F@ck, I just go out. Lost just over a grand, but it was always a gamble - money I was willing to lose. Big difference between losing R3k and R1k, though.

Ive taken out 2k and left 1k in,

Broke even from being 2k up (trading on the swings)

Put 2k in satrix indi

Best moves you could have made.

I see the share broke the 22c barrier at least 3-4 times today. My bet is it will drop to 21, 20 or 19c within 24 hours.

Buying Lonmin Shares

Hello

The Lonmin share price is ridiculously low. I'm thinking of buying some. Is there any possibility it could fall lower than 20 c/share over the short term?

Is it worthwhile investing there?

Yes it could and probably WILL drop lower than 20c/share...

No its not worthwhile investing... at best it is a very risky gamble.

How low do you think it could go?
But if a large company invests then price would go up?

I expect them to probably fold in the not too distant future, and no large company will invest in them to the point that the company is a good share price buy at this point in time.....

IF their turn around strategy bears fruit, then maybe, but the management of LONMIN are not known for being very good with this sort of thing, this is at least the second rights issue that they've been involved in from what I can remember.

They have reserves for the next 100 years.
There was a rumor of PIC purchasing 15% of Lonmin.

They can have reserves for the next 10 million years at 10000000x their current output, if the management of the company is piss poor (which it seems that they are), they WILL go bung.

It is not an investment share at the moment, at best it is a gamble with money you don't mind losing.

Point taken.
But I'm still buying R100k shares.

Glad you can lose R100k, because that is currently the most likely outcome for Lonmin.

**EDIT**

Also be aware that early next year they will undergo a share consolidation to remove the volatility from the share,

Fu**ing LOL :D

I hope it is not someone else's money you are gambling with...

I am selling off around 200k shares today, hope you will be there to snap them up.
