The Man United Thread

morning ladies

ok, so here's the latest gossip (not spesifically related to Man Utd)

- k.a.k.a is apparently moving to chelsea in a record transfer deal (this should be fun... ronaldo vs. k.a.k.a vs. fabregas vs. gerrard)

- SAF has apparently gone 'cold' on berbatov (thank god i say, my presonal opinion is that berbatov would not have fitted in with the current squad anyway. he's a good player but too much ego and his style of play is similar to saha. I think Man U needs a centre forward to complement rooney and tevez up front.)

- And the funniest of them all... Real are apparently planning to sue Ronaldo for £17 mil after he opted to stay with Man U. He apparently agreed terms with Real and the contract entitles Real to a nice mount of compensation now.

Thats my 5cents worth of soccer journalism for today :)

I'm sure this has been mentioned many times before.

But now its being widely reported by all news sources (except Marca who are still running "ronaldo house hunting in Madrid" ).

Seems like Fergie has decided to break the bank for this guy and give us a striking trio (or quintet if you count one of Saha/Frazier/Manucho coming good) fit to run rampant on Europe's best teams.

On a side note the Silva rumours are just wierd and I cant see it happening especially when we've already got 4 wingers (albeit 2 fit ones).

Berbatov on brink of £28m move to Old Trafford
By Dale Johnson

Dimitar Berbatov: On his way out?

Spurs have been holding out for a fee in the region of £38million for their star striker, but it is thought they have now reached agreement with the Premier League champions on a £28million deal. Spurs are closing in on a replacement signing and have also been boosted by the form of striker Darren Bent who has hit 13 goals in pre-season.

The Bulgarian has been tracked by United for months and their conduct had angered the White Hart Lane club, who believe the Red Devils were pursuing a public transfer campaign. United were reported to the FA by Spurs but it is likely any deal would see this complaint withdrawn.

Reports suggest the 27-year-old could be a United player by the time the Premier League kicks off this weekend, with some claiming he was at United's Carrington training ground for talks on Tuesday.

Berbatov has made no secret of his desire to move to Old Trafford, something which has frustrated bosses at Spurs who felt he should have shown more loyalty, and he has been criticised for his lack of application since returning from the summer break. It will come as a second blow in a matter of weeks after Robbie Keane insisted to be given permission to move to Liverpool.

Zenit St Petersburg forward Andrei Arshavin and Spartak Moscow star Roman Pavlyuchenko both remain at the top of coach Juande Ramos' wanted list, and the sale of Berbatov could free up enough funds for the Russian strike pair to be reunited in north London. West Ham United striker Dean Ashton - reportedly told to shed pounds by England coach Fabio Capello - has also been tracked, but a move for David Villa would appear to be doomed to failure.

Berbatov has scored 27 Premier League goals in 63 starts since moving from Bayer Leverkusen but his time at the club has been dogged by transfer rumours and questions over his commitment.

Yea i remember some stupid ass said tot would never to sell to united and would rather sell berbatov for 8m to some random club than sell to united.

So who would you like to see start at RB ? GNeville or WBrown ?
I would start off with Neville since he has alot of attacking qualities, but im hoping Rafael Da Silva gets some play as he is one fine player.

Seems like you have the right to insult members on the forum without getting banned.

That story was on all the major sites and forums saying that Spurs wont sell Berbatov to United, instead they will sell him at a cheaper price to another club. Who the F cares where he goes, he is a moody old fart.

I was stating what i read on the various forums.

Arsene Wenger does not believe there is any truth in the rumours linking Barcelona forward Thierry Henry with a transfer to Manchester United.

Henry ended his eight-year stay at Arsenal last summer, joining Spanish giants Barca for a £16million fee.

The Frenchman has, however, struggled for form at Camp Nou, and recent press reports have claimed he could make a dramatic return to the Premier League, with Gunners rivals United mooted as an interested party.

But Wenger feels Henry would only come back to play in England's top flight to re-sign for Arsenal.

"I don't believe in that," Wenger told the club's official website.

"I don't believe Thierry Henry will come back to England. That is my gut feeling.

"But I think if he comes back to England then he comes back to Arsenal."

Wenger agrees with me :)

Still, imagine if we got Henry and Berbatov.

Rooney, Ronaldo, Tevez, Henry and Berbatov in one team would not be too bad :)

@ Henry - what makes u think that any of the stars would leave to goto United? Henry will never ever go to United. Eto as well.

Even Da Silva said he doesnt want to play for United after Man U made a offer for him.
