It burns, yes. The thing is, they didn't really play well - we played so poorly that it made them look good.
I think it was a mixture of the two. We just did not compete in the midfield, which is where we are normally dominant. This is especially the case when Carrick had to go off - he was having quite a good game.
Clearly, we need Ronaldo back, but that certainly is NOT the only reason for our poor early form.
Giggs and Scholes are still in the team for some reason - I really thought last season would have been a fitting time for them to bow out.
We have got enough replacements for them now in the shape of Carrick, Nani, Hargreaves and Anderson.
For me, it is a big pity that Gary Neville has not come back to form and fitness yet. We miss him down the right. Wes Brown just does not cut it in a wing back role.
Hopefully at chelski we will play some kind of 4 -3 -3, with brown moved to the middle of the defence for Vidic, O'Shea as right back, then a midfield of carrick (assuming he is fit), Hargreaves and Nani/Giggs/Scholes/Anderson.
Rooney to play just behind BBT and Tevez.
When Ronaldo is fit again we can play more like a regualr 4-4-2 again, with BBT and Tevez up front, Ronaldo on the wing where he should be, Rooney playing just behind the front two, Carrick in the heart of the midfield with Scholes/Hargreaves next to him.
