The Mass Effect 3 thread

Finally finished ME1 last night, started with my second playthrough on ME2.
I cant wait for numero 3 to be released.

****SPOILER OF ME2 for anyone who hasn't finished it*****

I decided to play through a few times with the different builds, but it was mainly to keep Garrus alive.... He died on my first character

Mr Big Winky I too am addicted. I never thought that a Co-op only style multiplayer would appeal so greatly to me.
I'm hoping that playthrough was with me... Based on your second paragraph, there have been a few times when guys have gone gung-ho, died on the other side of the map early in the wave (I couldn't get to them in time) and subsequently quit..... Depending on the severity, it will normally leave 2 players and I or just me and a teamie.

That being said, I do venture on my own every now and then, but it's normally for flanking purposes.

PS the Carnifex pistol is super-duper-awesomeness.

I need to add some of you fella's so we can create some private local matches....
Yeah the Carnifex is awesome, especially when playing as Vanguard or Adept. Shotgun should in theory deal more damage at close range, but I found it doesn't work as well as it should because the accuracy is kak.

Good idea on the local private matches, but not sure if everyone is playing on the same platform though. I'm on Xbox, GT - SlayerGP.

Yeah it all depends on who you assign to each task in the final mission. I always make Garrus the second team leader, Tali/Legion the tech specialist, Samara the biotic specialist for the forcefield, and send Jacob back to the ship with the rescued crew cos he's useless anyway.

So I downloaded the demo of MS3 to see what the fuss is about. I've never played MS1 or MS2, and I honestly can't see myself playing MS3 as Origin lists it as being R550!?!?

I really don't see this game as great. It's okay, but for R550 I'd rather wait for Diable 3. Sorry :(

What's so great about this game is the many outcomes you can have to each playthrough. You can choose to let the Alien queen live, or die in ME1, and that affects something you do in ME2. You can choose to be good, or evil, and that determines how you can interact with certain key characters, effectively changing the end result of your game, and how you were able to get there.

I don't know about R550.00 - I think the CE at Takealot is R369.00 on preorder.

On my 1st playthrough on ME2, the only one that died was Jack.
With ME1, it was just Kaiden that didn't make it.

Ok so that playthrough wasn't with me then :(
My platform is PC. GT - Phr8er

I hear what you say about the Carnifex. I am currently playing the Vanguard class and when combining Biotic Charge with a headshot from the Handcannon, normally only a Nemisis or that crafty little ninja chick survive more than one shot.

Haven't played ME2 in a while now, but is it possible to lose more than one character? I'm sure I lost 2 on my Soldier Shepard?

Both of your sig's are funny... yet valid.

I lost 3 characters during that suicide mission... kept Legion and Miranda in my squad at all times :p

IIRC Jacob, Mordin and Grunt (he got shot once and died? very stupid after learning how many sets of organs Krogan have)

When you have done a squad member's loyalty mission he/she will not die on the last suicide mission.

The trick is to fit all the suicide* missions in before things get hairy.

*ooooops! all the loyalty missions !

Yip, what he said.
The reason Jack's status wasn't loyal to me, was because I picked Mrs Lawson over her during their b*tchfight. anyways that's why I think she wasn't loyal. :D

Choosing between a tatooed first rate bitch and a genetically enhanced angel...easy choice.

With enough Paragon/Renegade points you can get her loyalty back. You pretty much need to be close to 100% Paragon/Renegade depending on when the fight takes place.

Also, who lives and dies depends on a lot more than loyalty. You'll also need to do all the ship upgrades (Medibay, Thannix Cannon, Shields, etc.) and you need to select the right people for the right tasks in the final mission if you want everyone to live.

This picture illustrates why people die, and what you can do to save everyone: http://mimg.ugo.com/201201/9/1/0/217019/masseffecttimeline.png

Oh yes, I forgot about all of that. If I remember correctly there's only 1 of 2 squad members that you can choose to send back with the rescued crew, if they are to live.

I also only had jack die on me.

My Imports for Mass Effect 3 from ME 2 is ready.

Completed the game with a Pure Paragon Soldier and Pure Renegade Soldier with all members surviving.

Can't wait to start and get this going.

Hey, did you find anything weird with your pure paragon solder when you imported it from ME1 to ME2? I maxed out my character's paragon bar (There was not a single renegade point I received in ME1) in ME1 then imported it to ME2... bam! my character's renegade bar increased by about 30% :( Where did that come from? I didn't do anything that would get me renegade points in ME1.

I porked the genetic angel and it gave me an irl man crisis. Was the strangest thing?

I now have a mission in life to find the woman she was modeled on and give her a good'ol boning.

Hehehe, true.
Didn't care much for Jack anyways from the word go.

That made 2 of us. I found I never really varied my party. I always took the same squadmates into every mission.
I tried.... really hard.... to like the others in my subsequent playthroughs, but always came back to "my team".

I forget the Krogan's name, but doing his loyalty mission was fun :)

Lol!

Lol!

The same with me, I almost always picked Garrus and Grunt for my missions.
During the later stages of the game it became Legion and Grunt.

You should try Legion and Tali during Tali's loyalty quest, some pretty funny moments there :D
