The Mass Effect 3 thread

I have my copy currently downloading on pirate bay. I feel a real sense of loss doing this as I haven't pirated in years.

I will not be forced to use origin. If it's not on steam I am not interested.

hopefully it will eventually be available on steam so I can buy it legally.

I am not going to pay for what is effectively a broken unsupported version. This is my small protest, I will happily pay for it if I can get it through steam. I support paying for the software I use. I don't support being forced into a service I don't want to use.

Thankfully mass effect 3 is the only game I have between looking forward to from EA, after the massive cockup they made of command and conquer I simply don't trust EA to do the right thing.

To pirate a game for using the same system as Steam doesn't make a lot of sense to me. If you were arguing the merit of not being forced to use ANY "3rd party" software, I'd have understood (still not agree'd) a little more. Origin has it's problems. Steam was not flawless.

Origin is far from broken or unsupported imo though.
Honestly, it just feels like a weak excuse to pirate the game, to me. If you were worried of the quality of the game, you could've tried the demo (along with Origin) and seen it's not the monster it's being made out to be?

Don't be a moron. Origin is still technically a beta... It works A LOT better than steam did in the early days. As a launcher/update platform, it is almost as perfect as you can get. It works fine.

Man up. Buy the game. Launch through origin. BF3 works fine with it, millions of people can attest to that. ME3 will be amazing, and totally worth whatever you think the non-existant downside of using origin will be. Don't try justify your piracy to a piece of art.

I pre-ordered ME3 CE for PC from Takealot a while back, not recevied any pre-order DLC Code? :S

Lame Bioware

I just beat the game, and despite acquiring 90% of my allies, I still got a crappy ending.

Turns out you have to play multiplayer to get a "perfect" ending. It is possible to get the perfect ending without playing multiplayer, but apparently this requires you to do every single side quest and make the exact right decisions to do so :/

Other than that, it was a great game... I never felt so emotionally invested in a game before.

Borank, interesting. Thanks for not spoiling it :)

How good the story is in ME3? Rate it out of 10 :) Oh, is it true that ME3 looks better than ME2 when everything are maxed out?

2 of my squad members died in ME2, didn't really care, they were tools. I plan on answering questions truthfully and not to get a perfect ending.

I finished the shadow broker DLC a while ago, going to play through the arrival DLC tonight. Ready for my (hopefully) friday delivery of ME3.

2 more days to go, honestly can't wait anymore.

Managed to secure a Collectors Edition copy and if it's even slightly as good as ME2 i will be having a great weekend.
Unless they postpone, but i doubt it since I already started receiving some DLC codes.

This DLC Code for ME3 CE, I redeemed it, do you need to download it or does the rifle just gets unlocked ingame?

No prob. The story? It's enthralling, captivating, mesmorising ... I just did a 23 hour stint over 2 days just to found out what happens next ..
Prepare to have your heart broken a few times .. As I said, I was completely emotionally invested in the game, growing attached to certain characters from the series ME1 til this one.

9.5?

Gameplay wise I preferred ME2.

Actually not sure since I have not yet looked into this. If i remember correctly from ME2 it will download it when you install. But this is just hunch and ME now runs through origin so might be different.

Edit: this was in response to diegoa

Awesome!!!! :D Good to hear it. I too am too attached to a lot of characters in ME series -_- Playing ME3 is like reading Harry Potter Book 7 :P

I plan to finish my 2nd ME2 play-through this weekend. Sadly, I won't be able to play ME3 after this weekend until I finish my 3 UNISA assignments (Numerical Methods, Computer Organisation and Discrete Maths for anyone who is curious).

Don't be silly man, EA didn't develop this game, Bioware did. EA are the distributors in this case. Don't take out your anger on Bioware for a grudge that you have against EA :)

I am well aware of that :)

EA are the publishing house and refunds are up to them. They did not want to refund me for 2 of their "working" games.

If you go to PnP and you buy a product from them, lets say a loaf of bread, and there is a farking plaster baked inside of it, you take it to PnP for a refund, not to Sasko...

Same applies here, I bought two games, both are buggy and use Origin... which is buggy at the best of times and enjoys breaking itself and my game files most of the time. How BF3 installs must a man walk through? How many new screens must a man remove his keyboard from?

Same with SWTOR launcher, I have to repaire the game install twice per day to play. Once to log in the first time, and once to make sure the game wont bug before we raid.

I am more than happy to pay for a game when publishers realise that the people who buy games will buy them when they are easy to buy! (and use) I want to go to the shop, pay for my physical cd, install it on my computer, and play the game... Not have to install several other (resource heavy) applications to help me run the launcher of the launcher, which launches the games launcher to launch the pre-game so I can log in online to verify with my secret question, which sends you a confirmation email, follow the link to the launcher, to play the game.

AAARRRRGGGGG.... this all just makes me so angry. I am WILLING and WANT TO PAY FOR GAMES. Not on their current terms though.

In other news.
