Secondly that link was awesome, thank you very much! Got 2 pugs together and both reached wave 10. One failed due to a disconnect - which had me near tears - and the other we just failed, due to half the team not feeling any necessity to revive themselves.
I have the Justicar and have to say, on higher difficulties, using that sphere skill (reduces damage to allies inside, increases damage to enemies inside) makes a fairly big difference!

Yeah just keep practising, you can easily clear Gold on Firebase White + Geth using that guide, and it seems like most randoms who join in seem to know about it as well. I remember struggling to clear Gold at first (even that particular combo of level and enemy), and last night did it 3 times - easiest 220k credits ever

I'm positive the game I disconnected from would've been a success!! There was a Salarian doing the decoy, me with the buff a Turian soldier with the Revenant and an infiltrator zapping the hell out of them
Geth Prime's weren't even getting close to us without the use of Cobras!!I'm really interested to see what would happen if the enemy were Reapers.... Banshee's would be difficult to manage...
It seems the logic is as simple as it is effective. Find enemy spawn locations, position yourself at spawn points that would otherwise create a surround around you and preferably giving you access to ammo crates? The trick really is that location...

I don't think the Banshees would be much harder - basically just need a few engineers with Energy Drain or Overload to bring down the barrier, then they're cannon fodder when they're down to armour because they can't charge, so Incinerate + gun fire would take care of them. The problem with Reaper enemies on Gold is that you won't just have the odd Banshee, but you'll have a whole lot of Banshees, Brutes and Ravagers coming at you at once, along with husks who flank you.I'm positive the game I disconnected from would've been a success!! BTW if you didn't know already, don't aim your Cobra at a single enemy, aim it at the floor. This does area damage and insta-kills all enemies within the blast radius.

Does anyone know if it is possible to use an XBox controller for Windows to play ME3? if so, how?

Not supported outright on me1, 2 or 3.
There are workarounds but imho not worth the effort.
No disrespect to those with consoles, but why would you want to use a gamepad instead of a keyboard + mouse? Convenience??

Me. Alot of games are far more fun sitting back in my lazy chair, feet up, with the controller. Especially when using a fuge screen like the Samsung 32" LCD.
Sure - you sacrifice accuracy etc. but on a game like ME it doesn't matter that much.
So generally it is for convenience? Got nothing against using it, just wasn't sure why you'd want to... Now I know.

Some games are more fun, again imho. Skyrim on gamepad was awesome. Same with "Mirror's edge". Car games too.
Absolutely no doubt about car games. Better with a decent steering wheel though

Every time a good team has been put together and we're doing well, round about wave 8-10 the hosting player leaves... guess it's a disconnect, but when we're down to 3 and suddenly out of position on a late wave, it makes it really hard to fight back

Been a PC gamer for ages and will always be one but some games definitely play better with a gamepad. Thats one of the many advantages of PC gaming...the option of choosing the type of controls. First person shooters definitely play better with a keyboard and mouse. Games like ME3, Skyrim, The Witcher, etc are extremely enjoyable with a gamepad.
Did you guys have any luck on the multiplayer last night? Kept being kicked from the game and getting "disconnected from ea servers" message. Very irritating seeing as my pc was out of action for 2 weeks and last night was my first night back.
No hassles with me being kicked over the last few nights....
Out of interest, does anyone else with the Batarian soldier think he is more powerful than the rest? He has the same shield strength as the Turian except the Batarian has the same health as shield, thus more hitpoints than the Turian. The benefit is that he can hide properly in cover, unlike the Turian, and thus has a clear advantage there.
I played a few silver matches and was fairly consistently able to make quick solo work of a brute and was ok with solo'ing banshees due to that Blade skill he has... Add the Inferno grenade for CC and you have a near perfect class. I invested No points into his blade armour and this have 6 points in everything else. What are your feelings on him?
I also seemed to always prefer the Carnifex, but after unlocking the Crusader shotty, there is some competition

Only ever use carnifex, good for long and short range, high damage, good accuracy, incredibly short power recharge.
I wish I'd been able to get into half the games you invited me... sorry again!
Agreed on the Carnifex though! Have you got the Crusader?? The main reason I'm still touting the Carnifex is technically 1.5 shots from it = Crusader dmg. However the weight differential is what keeps it as my weapon of choice (miss that song btw). Vastly improves my power recharge time!

What character were you playing? Some have inherent speed buffs or penalties, while others have passive skills that might increase speed.
An adept. I think I also tried playing as an engineer.
