The 'Massive' Gauteng Weather and Storm Warning Thread! The Sequel

My garden still hasn't fully recovered from Midrand 2023.

Replanted some areas this year so when the storm started coming over last night I was sitting myself.

Me, 1+ month ago:

"I hope when I'm done putting this fertiliser on the grass, it's actually going to rain... I don't want the grass to burn."

Me Today:

"GGrrrggggh gurgle gurle grass uuurble burble burble"

Business must be booming for folks in the carport business.
Still can't understand why some genius hasn't found a way to make a carport not act like a huge windsail in stormy haily weather. Maybe springs on the top struts to given them the ability to be flexible and let the wind through.

Looking over to the JHB south area looks like another monster storm on its way.

Yep, looks like I am going to drive straight into.

Getting sick of it now. Our house flooded last week, and this sort of rain also knocks out traffic lights and opens up even more potholes.

I'm definitely no meteorologist.
But this is crazy to me.

You start with a little low pressure system that suddenly forms around Kroonstad between 9-11AM .... by 4PM you have a monster about the size of the United Kingdom that covers almost the entire northeast part of the country.

The energy involved must be gargantuan.
