Actually I like the fact that it hasn't made much profit. Employing 5000 people while servicing the shopping needs of countless more is a bigger success than creating profits for a small number of shareholders who are probably already very well off.

I've bought at better prices with better service from retailers that made a profit.

You could import a larger variety than with Amazon Global. Previously Amazon only did DVDs, CDs and books for import to SA.
