The Mazda CX-3 Thread

I've sat in a few and driven one. It's not big, but the kids have all buggered off and I don't need much space. I wouldn't want to have someone sit behind me, but there's enough adjustment on the seat to get comfortable. :)

Can't imagine anyone sitting behind you in any car :D

That must be one frikken tiny car. :wtf:

Could have been my imagination... I just felt closed in.

Size matters to some guys...

And just about every chick :p

Get the Dynamic it is the absolute sweetspot! For a little more you get a hell of alot more kit.

That was my original plan, but the trade-in offered was lower than I hoped for (and I have neither the time for nor interest in trying to sell it privately) and the Active has ticks in all the boxes on my personal list of requirements.

Anyone know a good Mazda dealership to get a 2015-2016 used Cx-5?

Shouldn't the HR-V have been part of that comparison?

The Soul is only going to come out on top if you've got no soul. :)

Looking purely at specs, it may look good, but damn, it's an ugly car.

The compact CX-3 crossover will see the introduction of G-Vectoring as well as a new Individual Plus model added to the range.

Mazda’s popular crossover, the CX-3 is set to acquire a few neat upgrades come 2017. The major update will be the introduction of G-Vectoring across the lineup. G-Vectoring was first introduced on the updated Mazda3 we tested earlier this year. G-Vectoring uses the engine’s torque to momentarily shift weight to work in the vehicle’s favour in order to improve the handling. It also reduces driver fatigue, with fewer adjustments having to be made to the steering in order to keep it straight.

The new model being introduced in 2017 will sit right at the top of the range. The Individual Plus Auto offers some neat safety additions as well as some different visual cues to help it stand out. Safety introductions include adaptive headlights, lane departure warning, Smart City Brake Support (visual and audible warnings are issued if the risk of a collision is detected), driver attention alert and blind-spot monitoring. Silver strips have been added to the door sides as a visual upgrade from the rest of the range.

As part of Mazda’s mission to employ its new SKYACTIV Technology across all its models, it has now updated the CX-3 compact crossover with some new tech.

Mazda has introduced G-Vectoring Control (GVC) across the 2017 model year CX-3 range. This feature controls engine torque based on steering and acceleration input from the driver.

The system helps to power the car through corners by sending a bit more oomph to the inside wheel, resulting in improved cornering and handling. The system claims to give the car a more engaging drive and better ride quality.

In addition to this update, Mazda is adding another derivative to the lineup, the CX-3 2,0 Individual Plus, much like the trim found on the current Mazda3. This top of the range model receives advanced safety features such as smart city brake support, adaptive LED headlamps, lane departure warning, driver attention alert, and blind spot monitoring.

Exterior-wise, the model is set apart by a new chrome side door trim as well as two new paint colours; Eternal Blue Mica and Machine Gray Metallic.

The CX-3 range comes with an three-year unlimited kilometre warranty, a three-year roadside assistance, and a three-year service plan.

Price has not yet been confirmed but given that the range falls inline with the Mazda3’s current pricing, it might be close to the R400 000 mark.

No word on whether the much needed centre armrest has been added as well.
