Blogs are currently all the rage in South Africa, with columnists, politicians and lawyers debating the pros and cons of this phenomena. But which blogs are the biggest and best?
According to Technorati, an international blogging aggregator, the following blogs are considered to be the biggest blogs in the worldwide blogosphere, as measured by unique links in the last six months:
The top spot belongs to Engadget, followed by Boing Boing: ‘A Directory of Wonderful Things’ and Techcrunch. Gizmodo, The Huffington Post, Lifehacker, Ars Technica, PostSecret, Daily Kos and Michelle Malkin complete the top 10.
Amatomu gives the best roundup of the South African blogosphere, and here Keo’s rugby blog reigns supreme. His blog is followed by East Cost Radio’s BIG Breakfast Blog, So Close by Tertia, East Coast Radio’s Newswatch Blog and Jacaranda FM’s Breakfast Blog with Kieno and the Angels.
ChumpStyle, Your Group of Web AddiCT(s), Mobile Africa, ECR Chip off the Old Blog and kiefpiet complete the top 10.
There are various other local blogs, like Steve Hofmeyr’s ‘Steve Se Spoeg Blok’, which are very popular and will most likely fit comfortably into the local top 10 blogging sites, but unfortunately they are currently not affiliated to Amatomu’s traffic measuring system.
