Seeing as smscode.co.za is falling more and more behind everyday and the turn-around time from WASPA on email requests is taking forever I thought that we could start a list here of numbers and the WASP they belong too. Feel free to contribute your numbers.

For clarity here is how I go about it.
1) Visit www.smscode.co.za and lookup both the sender number and any additional numbers in the message. Sometimes the shortcode in the message will match a WASP. If so post back here with the sender number.
2) If you get no matches email WASPA. They will take a few days and send you the details. Again this can go in the list.
3) With output from step 1 or 2 lodge a complaint with WASPA. Generally they will log a unsubscribe request on your behalf.
4) Be sure to follow this up when you eventually get a notice as some WASPS either claim to not find your number or just ignore the request entirely.

I haven't quite decided on how to sort the list, but if someone has a suggestion it would be welcome :)
 
Seeing that smscode only asks for the first eleven digits i.e. 2783xxxxxxx it would appear that the rest of the number is irrelevant, i.e. the range belongs to the same WASP. So then we keep contributions in this format which would already help with sorting and formatting.

Ok, we can look at that, but what about people searching for a number in google. Will it do a partial match?

I don't think so, unless you can google for 2783*.* or 2783???????? (or whatever).

Best to use the whole number, so that it can match the search query.
 
google rocks. It has already indexed this page so you can already search the above numbers!

43450 is Mira networks. Smscode does not have a hit for the full number 27840043450

That's a scam. Better to report it to the originating cellular provider (for what it's worth).

CellC makes it easier as they issue a long code that is similar to the short code. The other networks issue a tagged long code where the WASP appends 1-10 digits (most phones only support up to 5 digits you will never see more than 5) to their long code. Even a large aggregation WASP like Mira or Clickatel would only have a small number of longcodes with Vodacom and MTN.
