Is anyone using one, would like to compare notes

I wish that I had one, but I don't, unfortunately, and not through lack of trying. Both @AchmatK and I (amongst hundreds thousands of others) applied for one, but evidently we weren't considered eligible for their beta roll-out. @Tarique , congratulations and well done in making the grade.

Guess I was lucky, the settings are exactly the same as on the inverter and can be changed remotely, there is a lot more info/graphs available. Only disappointment is that there is a 5 minute delay in data transfer.

The display is nice but the delay isn't.
Does it send any warnings if your grid supply switches off?

No it doesn’t send a signal when grid switches off
I would have actually preferred the summary page from the Solarman app then the overview page on the Sunsynk app

my wifi signal is a bit iffy any idea if a wifi extender or mesh would be an issue with the system?

Also just an observation do you need your trickle power on? Did you actually test it against you meter?

I am a newb but ran 1kw into the grid to test my meter and it didnt budge so I turned off trickle power all together (I dont feed anything in now just wanted to test it)

I use a solarman with a mesh, no issues.
Trickle power is more for those sensitive prepaid meters that trip the grid (its to prevent feedback). Yip, should turn it off then otherwise its just giving eskom extra:D

Sweet thanks! Just the excuse I needed to get the mesh up and running

Yeah 100% there will be no dumping into the grid till compensation or at least ticking up the meter

Till then there will be no....

I don't see the appeal if it does what the original dongle does. If it sent warning when the grid switched off or anything similar then I'd be interested.
