The Official EPL 2011/12 Thread

Soft penalties, but similar ones have been given in other games.

Great comeback, although at the end I thought we could really win it.

Draw is perfect, I love it. On the penalties, players are making it very difficult for referees.

True. Evra's one was legit in my book. Soft, but there was contact, he never got the ball and Evra had every right to Shield the ball. To me it seems like Welbeck looked for the contact.

Another instance of that was when Adam Johnson threw out his leg to win a penalty, much more blatant but similar intentions.

People have to remember the ref gets one look from one angle, so it's easy to criticize after watching slow motion replays from multiple angles. Even with this benefit there were disagreements I'm the studio after the game.

so its not far off from video replays for penalty shouts.
i think everyone is picking it up from united's training methods on how to dive and cheat the ref.

Apparently they all learned from Steven Gerrard, the master of diving.

Great Game yesterday

_ Brilliant goal from Mata
_ Webb was all over the place with his decisions. I thought the second penalty was soft but the first was a penalty. Webb seems under pressure when Utd play as he is unjustly labelled as bias and then overcompensates making stupid decisions to prove that is not bias
_I think United deserved the draw at the very least

WAS.

Scholes is not the player he once was.
Makes no difference as Gerrard will also get older. Bottom line is that Scholes even though he isnt the player he was, is a better passer of the ball
