The Official local 1 Day Cup 2011 thread

Sorry there was a lot of tongue in cheek in my last comment. The Dolphins are my team and I will support them through thick and thin (Lions second, because they're the local team where I now live). However, this team looks lean on potential to finish higher than 5 in the tournament. I hope they do better, but I do not get the feeling they will :(

I definitely picked up your jibe!! But I was also curious as to the points system for this competition...

So with a big test match this week I assume Proteas players will not play

I think they are playing. I'm sure I heard that AB will be playing for the Titans tomorrow...

Graeme Smith, Dale Steyn, Mark Boucher and Robin Peterson can play for the Cobras against the Lions but Kallis and JP not.

Prince and Tsotsobe will play on Friday in East London before joining the Proteas for their Test Series so will not be available for the match against the Dolphins. Wayne Parnell will join the team in Pietermaritzburg for the fixture against the Dolphins.

Good to know points structure. I like the idea of a bonus point. Gives teams incentive to go excel.

I am a little surprised that the Proteas test players haven't had a chance to play a four day game. That's the timing of the new one day cup, I guess.

Looks like the decision to allow the Test players to play today has been reversed.

Only AB is playing for the Titans.

I see that AB de Villiers has been given out for "obstructing the field" - under the new rules.

I'd like to see a clip of that!

Rowan Richards also given out for obstructing the field... two in the same innings and an innings which needed all the help it could get. Will be interesting to see that.

Hope Dolphins get to play Lions without a rain interrupted game, they now really need to start getting some points

They doing ok thanks to the rain, 4 points after 2 games, that's like 1 win 1 loss. Doubt they would've chased 290 today.

Dolphins definitely saved by rain. Warriors would probably have taken it.

Does mean that Amla did not get practice :(
