yarre really?! i think im gonna give em a shot! you say no hassles if i take the R50 insurance fee?
Read the gearbest threads before making the decision. There's some useful tips in there to make the process smooth. Like what shipping code to use etc. Ask FlashSa maybe also . He's done this a bunch of times. Also PM the gearbest rep on here for assistance if you need any

How long ago? im afraid to order from gearbest (any international place for that matter) with fear of it either getting stolen or just simply never arriving for whatever reason

Gearbest golden rules:
*Always add in the insurance
*Always choose Priority Line Shipping, which is Aramex
*Always pay with PayPal (100% money back if package is lost or stolen)

On both my 64GB Mi A1's, I paid under R400 duties and taxes.....

AFAIK if your parcel is lost/stolen, you have 60 days to lodge an objection with Paypal. Paypal will contact Gearbest and let them plead their case. Once Paypal is satisfied that it is a legit lost/stolen case, they will reverse the entire transaction back to your card/PayPal account

I use the dual sim, so no space for sd card, also not all apps can be moved to sd card iirc
A lot of devices from marshmallow can actually have the sd card integrated into the phones storage

I've received about 6 orders since January. 2 of them phones, 2 others dashcams and phone cases and the other 2 wifi dongles, cables Sandisk microsd cards.

Do not have a single bad thing to say about Gearbestnor Aramex. My only hiccup was an extra 10 days of waiting because I ordered the one phone just before Chinese New Year shutdown but I had expected a delay because I had a feeling they may not have enough time to ship out before shutdown.

How long did it take you? I just bought phones from them on the 20th of April and its only coming tomorrow.
Took about 21 days/3 weeks. I didn't expect aramex to be this slow. Their global shopper is so much faster.

Whats this global shopper thing

Thanks for that. Smart ass

Lol. It's a shipping forwarding service. Aramex provides you with a 'local' address in the country where you are purchasing from. So if you are purchasing from the USA for example, you use 'your' USA address. Once the local vendor (Let's say Amazon US) ships it there, Aramex forwards it on to you. For a price, of course - they charge by kilogram and then you also have to bear in mind that you will need to pay customs and levies once it lands this side too

2-3 weeks for phones because of the customs stop - through the x-ray machine queue etc
Less than a week for sub R500 orders of covers, cables etc

To your door. Full tracking via the Aramex smartphone App

Some sites offer DHL shipping which arrives at your door in 5-7 days for about $20-25, worth it on expensive items for me. Pay with paypal for peace of mind.

So i've purchased a phone in Dubai and would like to bring it in with Aramex.. I called the local office in South Africa and they recon they don't bring in items with lithium batteries. How does everyone else bring smartphones with Aramex?
