Not out yet .......in two minds if I want Miui 10
Too many negative reports on Reddit across many Xiaomi models - mainly notifications and non change ring tones

Think I'll wait awhile - SOT is still between 16hrs to 18hrs a year later, and I ain't messing with that ;-)

Yeah my alarmin app (paradox alarm) is no longer showing notifications. Anyone got any ideas?

I think I sorted it out somehow.
Went through a couple of the notification settings and disable/re-enabled them so tis working now, but not sure which setting did the trick
 
I'm wanting to root my redmi note 4 and flash Resurrection Remix or lineage.
I'm coming form a nexus 5 and I do not like the MIUI ecosystem not allowing me to install google's phone app.

Anybody know if there are issues to be expected?
Not really in the mood to fiddle with ROMS that much, just want something plain and working.
 

After watching the comparison above I can totally understand why Xiaomi is crippling the Poco's camera quality in the software on purpose.

I am sure its eating their own market share in a big way.

You must install the patched apk since Google blocks installation on unsupported phones. You will not get spam ID though. https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-google-phone-v14-0-175904292-bubble-t3708218

Well they should have foreseen that. I wonder how much it affects profits since they only make 5% on hardware.

Not that bad, Poco is selling like hotcake in India and there the phones get funded by Ad's.

They really only lose income in countries like SA and Europe where they don't serve ads, but here they still growing as a brand name. Its still a win for them as people will speak about their great bargain phone creating awareness where there was none.
 
Picked up a Redmi S2 yesterday to give to my mother and I'm super impressed by this phone. Good to see it'll be getting the Pie update too next year.

the Gcam/pixelcam mod seems to be doing well to bridge that gap though. They've even gotten nightsight working. :)
