The Official Xiaomi Thread

Hey there. Which phone do you have? You're saying when you 'click' on a textbox to start typing text, the keyboard doesn't show up on screen?

Have you tried cleaning, or blowing any dust out of areas it may have accumulated?

How about a factory reset if all else fails?
Hi. Apologies. I have a Redmi 9. When I normally tap in the text box, the keyboard comes up. When this happens, the keyboard does not come up.

Did this issue start after any notable change or software update?

Try see if there is a Gboard update. Tried resetting the phone yet?

I think there was an update, but not sure. IT is set on auto update. Will check to see if there is an update available.
No, didn't want to. I will have to reinstall everything again after resetting?

Well try that, and all else you can, first I guess. If resetting completely, yes you'd have to setup your device again and install your apps and such.

Any suggestions on a new phone? I currently have the mi6 but need a new device.

It doesn't have to be a high end phone, I dont play games or facebook or whatever. It will be used for normal day to day things such as messaging, internet / forum browsing etc.

The phone needs to be able to accommodate 2 simcards, have a good camera, fast charging and then all of the usual things.

I don't need the phone immediately, just want to start researching.

How do I search my phone? (Redmi 9)
Since I am very new to Android, I sometimes still need to do a search to find an App I installed. How do I do a search of my phone only? When I go to the search text box, it searches Google.
Thanks.

The google search app also can search your phone apps, on my Redmi 8 it does this as I am typing into the search box. The setting for this (which was enabled by default for me) is found in the search app by:
-Press the G, or do a random search so the bottom menu with items "Discover, Snapshot, Search, Collections, More" appears, and then go into "More"
-Then: Settings>General>Personal results>Apps(Names of installed apps)

The Note 8 is on a crazy special of R2800 or R2900. Either at take a lot of at Mia. Probably the last run of available stock.

Well just your luck today the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G was officially announced.

It's got the 33w faster charge that may suit you, apart from the latest new nifties:
-108mp main shooter
-120Hz screen
-Snapdragon 750g (8nm)
-And ofcourse 5G

If you can wait for it, it looks like it could be sweet deal if the price is right

Amazon UK has the note 9pro for £159.
That's a crazy R3250

My sister just got herself one.

Our prices suddenly seem inflated

What do you think local pricing could be like?

Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G (64GB, 6GB RAM, Dual Sim, White, Special Import) - R5699 using 'return200' coupon on checkout.

Not a bad price for a 5G phone.
Would prefer it with 128gb storage space though.
