The Official Xiaomi Thread

So Sunsky and Giztop.

Had a look at the Giztop site and they ship with 2 different methods. Sunsky ships with Aramex and Dhl

Edit: Has anyone bought from either website before?
Bought a Redmi 9s from Sunsky on the 15th May 2021. They tried to deliver via DHL but they refused to ship because they wont ship anything with batteries (apparently they send all parcels through x-rays and can detect batteries). They said I must go with Aramex. Package was received by Aramex on 24 May 2021 and I'm still waiting for the phone today... Its been with customs for 5 days and Aramex support is mostly useless with giving me timelines. I hope to receive by Friday this week... but that is going up in smoke at this rate...

Will update once I hear anything.

Just a note, Sunsky support does not reply to Whatsapp or email but are very active on Skype. They are actually really decent and even refunded the difference between Aramex and DHL shipping fairly quickly once I told them.

I had a look at their 100% guarantee terms and conditions which don't seem to bad. How much was shipping and customs fees?

I just bought a 9C for our office Business WhatsApp and I am very impressed with the bang for buck the phone offers. Battery life of death and the phone has enough power for light task switching. Charged it to 100% while setting it up on Monday morning and this morning it still showed 90%. The thing will probably only need a charge one every 7 to 10 days as we use WhatsApp Web 99% of the time so the screen on time is near zero.

Pity about the MicroUSB charging port but it is what it is.
1 week down since last 100% charge. 1x OTA software update, 8hrs of WhatsApp web per working day, on wifi 24hrs a day and it has a sim card inside connected to MTN (not in flight mode). Still sitting on 56% battery left.....

Pretty handy "in the desk drawer" device.....

Shipping was about R6-R700 (bought two phones) with Aramex. No idea about customs yet as Aramex says they dont need anything from me till the package clears customs...

Recently got a Redmi Note 10 off Sunsky, shipped via DHL. They charged me around R340 in costums, but I think there may have been an error in my invoice, didn't really bother to read it when the Sunsky rep sent it to me.

Yip, take the win and forget

Think I might go with Sunsky. Wish I get charged the same amount I customs as you. The aramex shipping is way cheaper than DHL though.

Did the customs of R340 include the disbursement fee?

Be careful with Aramex. They are super slow with rubbish support. DHL is way faster and you will likely have your phone in about two weeks. My phones are still stuck at customs with Aramex. DHL gave me customs forms before the phone even left Sunsky. Aramex still has not sent me anything since 22 May 2021.

You get what you pay for.

Not sure what disbursement is, but the R340 customs fee came the day before the phone was delivered, and it was directly to DHL.

How much did the Redmi Note 10 cost you in total?

Amazon has it for slightly less than 3900 delivered to SA & including all fees.

A little over R 4300 for the 128 gb version, problem was the DHL delivery fee didn't cover import line it was expected.

I love it when big brands (like Amazon, Takealot etc) handles the customs part without you having to worry about that.

Makes for a less stressful experience than trying to import it yourself, and getting reamed by customs.

I can't even buy from Amazon, it was my first pick to buy the phone, but they suspended my account, because they thought my card was suspicious, now they want documentation I couldn't possibly get.

Takealot sells the Xiaomi Mi 10T 5G 256GB for R12k

It is a cool phone but not 12k good.

It is still a xiaomi come resale time etc.

A lower speced S20 FE is more likely to retain value & have more parts available etc.

Maybe I'm just losing interest in premium/expensive phones now.
