The Official Xiaomi Thread

So I downloaded this one for mines
Redmi Note 10 Pro GlobalStableRecoveryV12.5.4.0.RKFMIXM11.03.0 GB2021-06-30Download

When I tried to run it, error: Can't verify. Looks like current ROM's network carrier type is different from that in the recovery package. Since I bought my phone from Amazon UK wondering if this is the one I should be using

Redmi Note 10 Pro EEAStable BetaRecoveryV12.5.3.0.RKFEUXM11.03.1 GB2021-06-30Download

My MUII says : MIUI Global so ek weet nie ... I think I should just be patient..

My Mi10T showed as Global but was EEA and that was from Amazon. You can’t do any damage as its the official ROM and will only run with the correct one. Your current ROM, is it RKFEUXM? (The EU part designates as the EEA rom).

Yup, RKFEUXM ... ok .. going to try it :D

And done. Upgraded to 12.5.3 stable beta.

Now will see hopefully if the dark mode bugs maybe have been vanquished.

Edit: Seems at least in the Ubiquti app it's fixed. The Stats screen is readable again

Xiaomi definitely doesn't know how to handle dark mode. Some apps looks horrible. Case in point FNB app, VPN app and a whole bunch of others when the phone in system settings is in dark mode.

These apps don't look like that on my Nokia Android 10 phone which is also by default running in dark mode Screenshot_2021-07-22-08-22-06-130_za.co.fnb.connect.itt.jpgIMG_20210722_082603.jpg

Amyone know what the issue is with shipping to S.A? Im looking at the poco x3 pro but literally no phones are shipped to S.A on Banggood currently. Gearbest dont seem to have an issue except for shipping being expensive. Aliexpress has the best pricing and shipping currently. All of them come from China so why would Banggood not ship to S.A but the others do? Not important with Aliexpress giving me the best prices currently but it just seems strange.

Probably covid

You can still buy from amazon
Yes but then it is hit and miss with the currency conversion since amazon doesnt dispaly it in R. Manually doing the calcs the aliexpress route is still cheaper and that is when including a cover and screen and camera lens protector

Can concur, as soon as it sees your card is South African, at checkout it gives your the option to be charged in Rands or their default currency. Shipping was quick. For mines, they said would be delivered by 02/Aug , then 29 Jul, and I got it within three days of it being shipped ( which was 20 July!

4 days of using this phone already. :)

Anyone with a Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro, when taping on the top left back cover by the camera do your device make a noise? or on the top right on the screen.

My Redmi Note 8 does this. I've always assumed it to be the focus/lens mechanism, that is usually activated with electromagnets. Samsung has an article on this:

I can also slightly hear it when switching between lenses, iirc between the macro and main. Freaked me out one night.

They have tightened up the shipping of goods with batteries in them. AFAIK the only company still shipping phones is Aramex but they can take an age to deliver if you are not on top of them. I ordered from Sunsky in Hong Kong / China and wanted to delivery it through DHL but apparently DHL in HK refused to ship the phone. They put all packages through an x-ray and kick those packages with batteries out and return them to sender. The only way I found out was because Sunsky told me and arranged to ship with Aramex then refunded me the difference in shipping.
