The Official Xiaomi Thread

I am having a problem with my Note 10 Pro and the hands free in my 2015 Subaru Forester. The phone connects fine via bluetooth, but when I take or make a call in the car, the other persons voice is so garbled I cannot hear what they are saying. I contacted Mobile In Africa support 2 days ago and I have yet to receive a reply. Their service has always sucked. Xiaomi global support office came back to me straight away, but all their suggestions have not solved the problem. I an sure it is an issue with the phone becasue the person on the other side can hear me perfectly, and my wifes Samsung works perfectly when I connect her phone in the car. My Xiaomi was also working fine in the car when I first got it, so i dont know if its become an issue since one of the updates.

So far I have reset the BT & wifi, disconnected the wifi, re booted I dont know how many times, and the BT works fine with any other device. I not used the phone much in the car so not 1005 sure when the issue started.

Has anybody had a similar problem ?

Note 10 Pro here.

Mine works perfectly in my 2017 Hyundai i20.
Also worth mentioning, I did not get any calls since the latest security update yet. Will do a test call later today and let you know.

Hey

Did you try your phone in another car to isolate the issue?

Just remembered that it was working perfectly in my sisters Everest in June this year, so its looking like it may be a problem with the link between the phone and Subaru radio

Samsung has swung back into contention. Xiaomi swept the floor with the budget Samsung X1 and X2 ranges but the Samsung X3 is competitive and those A04s look decent.
And we probably have Xiaomi to thank for this. 3 gigs of ram plus for under 2K is hopefully the future.

Update to MIUI 13 (Android 12) is out for the Redmi 9T. Coming up for 2 years that I've had this phone and it's been very well-supported for a budget device - shipped with Android 10 so it's gotten updates through 2 Android releases, security patches still up to date (though they do take a month or two after Google releases them). Did you hear that, my Chinese handler? I SAID I'M HAPPY WITH THE SUPPORT!

Should have posted from the phone, oops.

Still waiting for my patches fro my 11T PRO. Still stuck on Oct update. No new updates available. This is one reason I really hate Xiaomi

What's it like so far ? - ie. run smoothly enough, and anything suddenly not working since the update ?

I have the identical phone, but mine's slightly over 1 year 2 months old.

Going away for a few days, so obviously don't want a phone can't even use on the trip ; looking at updating end of December, on return.

No issues at all though it's smart to wait till after you're back.

Xiaomi's first EV pictured, to compete against Tesla Model 3

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi is reportedly working on two electric vehicles (EVs), with the first model aiming to compete with Tesla's Model 3 sedan, according to a report by local media. The first model, codenamed Modena, is said to be larger and more powerful than the Tesla, and will be priced similarly to XPeng's P7.

The firm is said to be considering two different versions of the vehicle, one with a starting price of between RMB 260,000 and RMB 300,000 ($38,000 to $43,600) and the other with a starting price of RMB 350,000 ($51,600).

The more affordable model is expected to be powered by a standard 400V BYD lithium iron phosphate battery pack and sold to the general public. It will also feature a multitude of sensors developed in partnership with German company Continental - including cameras and five mmWave radars similar to what the 2021 Li Auto Li ONE uses.

The higher-priced variant will be built on a high-voltage 800V architecture and will use CATL's Qilin Battery, which can be charged from 0 to 80% in just 15 minutes. It will be equipped with an Orin X processor from Nvidia, as well as LiDAR and algorithms developed by Xiaomi.

After my last A series Xiaomi I decided to get me a light blue Redmi A1. Pretty keen to see how it performs, hopefully not as bad as the unusable 9A.

Some people may have noticed the 0.08 (QVGA 320x240) Time of Flight / Depth sensor and wonder if it is any good? Well I did some googling and it turns out low res is very good for that duty since I do not need a lot of pixel information and these cameras can be driven at some pretty high framerates which help improve accuracy. They are mostly used in the automotive industry for in-cab detection.

What's a fair price for a Note 8? Good condition, always had a screen protector on, just general light wear and tear from being in a silicone cover.
