I have ordered from there. Got my current 9s from there. They are decent. Dont order through DHL as they would not accept the shipment of the phone as it had a Lithium battery in it. Got it sent through Aramex. Their service was great. Just have to track down where the customer service is on. I tried Whatsapp and email but got no reply. Found them on Skype and they were great. Answered all my queries and helped out a lot.

Feedback: So last night I got the Bootloader on my Redmi 9T unlocked, the phone restarted... heavens know what happened but now it stuck in bootloop mode ;(

I have tried every tip I could find on the net last night with no success, even factory reset, the works, remains in bootloop... luckily, I made a backup of what needed to be kept.

Long story short, I just purchased a new phone from Takealot for R4399, will arrive tomorrow, I purchased the Redmi Note 12 :)

I may have missed it - but why did you want to downgrade again?
My Note 9T is on MIUI 14.0.4 and runs flawlessly.

I would have gone Samsung lol. I'm over my 9s.
Samsung was cool in 2012, grandpa.

I've been with Xiaomi like forever ;)
Mi Max 1, Mi Max 3, Redmi 7, Redmi 9T.
The 9T is the first one that has given me troubles.
I really miss the Mi Max models, huge screens :D

It started hanging a lot since the last minor update, so thinking downgrading would rectify it, not knowing it was "actually" hardware related, who knew the bootloader would show the problem before I got to flash it. Now I know.

Strange. But I would never attempt a downgrade on anything these days. There was probably something else wrong.

My Note 9T did once enter a boot loop, but I soon discovered it was something dodgy with the power button. After giving it some Q20 love the problem was solved. Must have been moisture or something causing the button to "stick". I plan to keep this phone for quite some time still. My next phone will most likely be a Tecno as they seem to treat security updates seriously.

It's official : https://www.mi.com/in/product/redmi-a3/

Seems to come with fingerprint scanner so this might just be my next phone. Guess I spoke too soon about keeping the Note 9T

The phone is running full Android. That processor is going to slow it down too much.......

Yeah, I was hoping they would stick to Go edition but since RAM now ranges from 3GB to 6GB they must have schemed they can go full fat.

I just wish it was smaller. I miss the days of nice sub 5" 768p phones like my beloved Nexus 4. Our time together was too short.

I want to load the PixelOS rom on my old Redmi mi9. Is anyone using this rom?

So I eventually got around to installing Pixel Experience on the Redmi 9T...it's very good. Neat and tidy, snappier than MIUI with the unexpected benefit of unlimited Google storage for photos and videos (the OS apparently reports itself as a Pixel phone to Google). I don't use the camera that much but might be useful to others.

Can recommend.

Xiaomi in SA has lost it's value that it used to have, their phones are now basically the same price as the competition, even to the point that it seems they don't even release many phones in SA

Yup, which is why I went samsung with my A34 instead of Xiaomi Note 12 pro, longer software support too.

Yup, my whole house has switched to Samsung phones from Xiaomi, my son has the A34 now, the wife the A54 and I've got the S23 Ultra, I tend to keep my phones for like 4 years, they don't :-). But from a value proposition that A34 is stellar actually, sure camera isn't anywhere near the Note 12 Pro, but the rest is great, the screen is surprising.
