The Official Xiaomi Thread

The chipset may support QC 3.0 but if Xiaomi does not agree to pay the royalties to Qualcomm then we won't be seeing it. Same issue with the SD625/SD650 - the hardware supports it, but it cannot be enabled as it would have apparently made the device too expensive.

Does it matter that much? Isn't the screen on time the biggest killer of batteries? Rather than the CPU?

I think there are a few factors at play, but SOT is definitely a big draw on non-AMOLED displays. But a more efficient CPU may make the drain when awake (since screen on = awake device) a lot less than we currently are used to. I think Xiaomi might be wanting to keep the smaller battery to make the phone slimmer and thinner but perhaps they will include QC in the next generation of Redmi Notes as a compromise?

Well Redmi Note 4 (MTK) normally lasted me a day with 38% left after 24 hour period Redmi Note 4X on same person/usages get 3-4 days. Basically they the same Phones with only CPU changes.

Used both for about 2 months and always had to charge the MTK at end of the day where the 4X only needed a charge every 48 hours unless I hit a weekend, weekends phone don't work that hard so if I hit Friday night with more than 45% left I only charged it on Sunday Night.

I'm about to post the best battery life I've ever had in my life. Stand by. Just waiting for the last 20% to go down.

Mine doesn't last that long on minimal use. Less than 1 1/2 days.
It's just a few tweaks that are being done that doesn't hinder my daily use.

> Nitrogen OS
> Radon Kernel 5.1 - 2000mAh max charge, F Sync off, Battery profile, Enhanced colours
> Minimal underclocking on EX Kernel Manager
> Screen brightness at 25% indoors
> All uneeded things off: GPS, BT, LTE, Hotspot.

Thats about it. Nothing special. It's just Umang96 and xyyx are flippin good developers and the main reason I went Note 3 over Note 4x was these guys.

Might aswell go all the way and get a feature phone then.

Perhaps you guys misunderstood. It is not needed. When I require it, it's switched on. It's just basic phone management...
