The Official Xiaomi Thread

It's just a few tweaks that are being done that doesn't hinder my daily use.

> Nitrogen OS
> Radon Kernel 5.1 - 2000mAh max charge, F Sync off, Battery profile, Enhanced colours
> Minimal underclocking on EX Kernel Manager
> Screen brightness at 25% indoors
> All uneeded things off: GPS, BT, LTE, Hotspot.

Thats about it. Nothing special. It's just Umang96 and xyyx are flippin good developers and the main reason I went Note 3 over Note 4x was these guys.

Hmm, I'm not getting close to that sort of SoT with my Note 3 Kenzo.

Currently on:

RRemix
Radon 5.1 - Battery profile, etc same as yours. I did enable d2w though.
Underclocking using Kernel Adiuter
Screen brightness perhaps a bit higher
On Wifi + BT on only. (Reception is a bit patchy here which might put additional drain on the battery for GSM)
Netguard firewall might account for higher battery usage as well - other than that there's only minimal apps installed.

D2W will drain some. Same with brightness. Reception is a big factor. Like 2-3hours worth of battery life. That's why I switched off LTE as I don't even get that where I live. H+ is sketchy for me as well. That's why I usually hit 7hrs screen on. If you check my screenshots I was on Wifi the entire day. That's probably how I was able to hit 9hrs.

So you are not that far off really. I'd also recommend switching to Nitrogen is you really want to squeeze more out...

Thanks, will tweak some and look into Nos - though I suspect the constant signal hunting will forever plague all my devices until the mobile providers decide to make a plan in our area one day.

I must say though that the phone dozes incredibly efficiently, losing about 1% overnight only. It's just the moment I switch the screen on then the drain is real.

Will see how it goes with my friend's Note 4 arriving later this week for some comparison :)

Does anyone here utilise the automated task functionality built into MIUI 8?

At 07:45 my WiFi goes off and my GPS goes on, and at 16:00 my WiFi turns back on and the GPS gets turned off again.

For me it is under the Security app under the Tools subsection (MIUI 8.2.10.0)

Hi, I have a Xiaomi A4 and would like to save sms's in folders but can not see a way of doing it - my old Nokia allowed me to do so - any thoughts - Cheers

I believe since the world has decided to move to the threaded SMS view, folders have become deprecated.

That said, you can give SMS Organizer a try to see if it may suffice for your needs

Have updated the OP with more info regarding MIUI 9. I will add more info as I find it

Also:
Some of the Xiaomi phones expected to get MIUI 9 update are Redmi Note 3, Redmi Note 4, Redmi 3/3s/Prime, Mi5/Mi5c, Mi Note 2, Mi Mix, Mi Max, Redmi 4/4A, Mi4c, Mi4i, Mi Pad 2, Mi Pad 3, Mi5S Plus, Redmi 4X, Mi Note,Redmi Note 4X, Mi Max 2, Mi 6 and more. Of all the devices, Xiaomi Mi6 will be first to get taste of MIUI 9 update.

English one to come after that:

Note: The MIUI 9 in this thread refers to MIUI 9 China ROM.

Also:

What we know so far about MIUI 9:
- Redesigned Lock Screen shortcut
- Added Split-Screen feature
- Added 3 new themes besides the default theme.
- Removed rarely used features
- In order to ensure MIUI 9 offers a great user experience in terms of stability, smoothness, and better battery backup, a limited amount of devices will receive MIUI 9 in the first batch followed by others. The updates will roll out in batches.

Would be nice if they could look at the 660 or 630.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A will have 630, releasing it next month and Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 will sport a 660. But will only come out close to the end of the year.
Hopefully with 4 to 6gb :)

It's surprising how RAM-hungry phones have become lately. I regularly see my Note 4 drop to under 900MB available, and that is with 3GB RAM in total with maybe three apps running :erm:
