The Official Xiaomi Thread

I returned my Redmi Pro 2 to takealot earlier this year - do you know how difficult it was to get them to understand I want to be refunded for the screen protector attached to the phone as well? They couldn't comprehend that the screen protector was attached to the phone - and couldn't be returned separetly, they kept insisting.

Why did you return it? Also how long did you have it? Also I can understand them not wanting the screen protector back, you opened it, you used it, it's not really something they could repair and try recoup some money off of, or return to manufacturer.

Because the buttons stopped working. Its a well documented problem with the device.

Yes, I opened and used it, on the device they provided that stopped working, not sure why I should suffer a loss. Pretty sure the CPA has me covered.

Probably does and good for fighting it.

After I did much direct pleading to Xiaomi to produce a matt black Mi Max 2 through several of their global offices about 6 weeks ago, they have listened and now have it available in Matt Black.

However, I prefer shipping with DHL through Gearbest, as it usually takes 4 or 5 days to arrive at my door, and they are very quick at getting it through customs.

However, Gearbest does not have the Matt Black version, but I can get it from Bangood, but they do not offer DHL, but have EMS Express shipping

I am very sceptical about using anything other than DHL or FEDEX. Has anyone here used EMS Express for getting a phone in from China ? How long did it take, and how reliable are their tracking updates. Any problems or accolades with EMS Express ?

Thanks...

Jy weet dan! Dala!

Ok, I'm gonna dala.
So after I place this order, must I get Aramax or someone to courier it or is that part of the transaction or what?

When you place the order there will be a place to select shipping. Pick DHL this will add cost. Also don't forget if you import DHL will contact you to pay import duty + clearance charge for getting it through customs.

Oh I forgot:
If all goes well you get a sales person that know what to do and they pop a sticker on package saying it contains lithium and the safety steps. If not, you get an email saying they can not DHL it and have to regular post. If option 2, cancel order and repeat next week till option 1 becomes available.

And no.... I am not joking.

I wonder now.. My brother is going to Spain in September. Will it be cheaper if I get him to buy it there?

Can you read spanish ? :p

I would take a chance on Banggood. I bought from them recently and no problems getting it past customs. They seem to have a special on the MI6 at the moment.

Technically he should declare it when entering SA. that will carry the same if not higher import cost minus the clearance fee. He can chance it and say nope but if caught it will carry a harsh penalty.

As for device price... I doubt he will get it there for cheaper.

Ok, I bought the 128 gig blue version.
Let's hope it reaches me.

The payment amount is: R7419.88 ZAR .

FNB :) R13.47 reserved for purchase @Paypal,

Oh crap you used Paypal's conversion and not your local bank. ie: you Paid in Dollar price not R price on Paypal?

Normal 1$ charge to test the card. Most international sites do this (Steam, Sony Playstation, Xbox live and so on does the same)

You really really new to this international thing aren't you?

Eish... hope you come right.

Pity I bought my MI5. Should have ordered this one. Even if I had to pay lots of import duties.
