The Official Xiaomi Thread

From my past exp, the pack for days = sales agent that have no clue and you gonna get an email soon saying they can not ship it via DHL you have to use regular mail.

Shucks I hope not:cry:
FYI I selected middle east express

DHL o pal.

@ CamiKaze
What was the delivery Charges and also were there any customs/Duties you paid once it arrived

Oh in that case its gonna be they can not find your address. So you gonna have to find another postal code close to you that works.... may as well raise a ticket now and ask why its taking so long so you can get the ball rolling. Gearbest normally ships no more than 2 days after packing unless there is errors.

Xiaomi now a top 5 manufacturer again regarding shipments and market share. They are just behind Oppo, Huawei and Apple. Samsung still the leader but the Xiaomi business model seems better as they want customers purchasing cash rather than been locked into a contract.

So the replacement earpiece I ordered for my old Redmi Note 2 came in the mail earlier on this week.

I installed it, booted up the phone and...niks. The earpiece is still dead quiet. Sigh :(

Can be the connector not making proper contact with either the headphones' pin or the phone circuit board.

Will a bluetooth headset work, or is it not feasible?

I checked and both positive and negative pins are making contact and if I bend the phone slightly it works, but obviously not feasible as a long term solution.

I sold it to a colleague for R100 and said if he pays for the replacement speaker I'll install it for him. But alas it isn't working. The positive contact pad runs through a very small resistor that may possibly have a bad solder joint, hence the bending making it work, albeit temporarily.

I may pop the circuit board in the oven just for the heck of it :) redneck reflow oven, hehe

Scary what LTE will gobble up. So glad I was using a prepaid cellc SIM for testing.

50Mb gone just like that! Plus my airtime of R20... :wtf:
Get a Telkom data SIM. There's a 20gb special going on this month.

Considering it goes for $100 reasonably often, I don't think so... might as well strap a second Note 4 on your wrist for cheaper :D

Friend of mine has the Amazfit and really enjoys it - receiving his Telegram messages and all on there. Look clear and crisp, great for runners and batterylife is better than most watches.

Unfortunately you can't really input/reply on the Amazfit, which is the only reason why I've stuck with the Mi Band 2 for now (With legendary batterylife) until there's a watch with the Ticwatch 2's specs 2 days batterylife.

I have an iPhone SE and Apple Watch. Looking to sell the SE and get a phone with a bigger screen.
I want to keep the Watch because I plan to upgrade to an iPhone Plus model when my contract ends next year.

Amazfit is not worth it, can get way better Android Wear for just a couple of R extra. Also note the Amazfit is not a true Xiaomi device. Xiaomi bought the co and re-branded it.

I would either go full Android or skimp it and go for a Mi Band 2 like I did for just $21.

I must really be bad on phones - my note 4 battery lasts about 14 hours.
