The Official Xiaomi Thread

Have a look in the security app, then see its settings. It's the option for show menu in notification shade.

That sort of helps. If I turn it off, then it disappears. When I try to add shortcuts as shown below

Then they appear as shortcuts on the home screen.

Notice however that I don't have block list enabled and yet it shows up on notification shade. I somehow chose those when the phone prompted me all those weeks ago .. (I think ) too many unprompted customisation options were presented to me.

I wonder if Xiaomi opted to ditch the front-facing camera with the Mi Mix 2? The general populace won't be happy...

I have not used the front cam on both my Note 2 nor my Note 4, ever. I should probably see if they actually work...:D

"Leaked" my rear end!!!

They released the images in light of the rumored bezel less iPhone soon to be released.

PS: front camera is in the bottom strip.

As you can see, the last remaining bezel in the Mi Mix - the bottom one - has been trimmed even more, to the point where the Mi Mix 2's front is almost all-screen. There's still no speaker grille up top, because the Chinese company will use a piezoelectric module once more (but hopefully an improved one compared to last year's).

Since the bottom bezel was cut so drastically, there was literally no place to put a front-facing camera on the handset, which is definitely an interesting design choice. The Mi Mix 2 looks like it could be even thinner than the 7.9mm Mi Mix, and will sport a metal frame. Its corners are slightly more rounded than its predecessor's.

We have previously heard that the upcoming device would sport Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835, 6GB of RAM, an AMOLED display, and a 19 MP main camera. A 4,500 mAh battery will provide the juice needed to operate the beast.

The Mi Mix 2 is said to come out in mid-September for a price of CNY 4,999 (that's about $748 or €637).

I can't wait to read more on the tech involved for the earpiece....

Nannydemon with a miniaturized bluetooth headset which'll open a tiny window and shout into your ear what the other calling party says. Had to import a couple of them from the Discworld. Was not cheap either, but at least Rincewind got out of a big mess.

I wonder how the phone will know to turn off the display when you place it next to your ear to talk? I mean, if the bottom of the phone juts out past your chin then the proximity sensor mounted in the bottom bezel won't know any better

The previous one was sonar based so it knew when it's near you or something. Guess it'll be similar here.
