The Official Xiaomi Thread

I use to use this one on my note 4 back in the day:

Slim enough not to bulk the phone also hard enough to protect it from falls, and a bonus was that it gave the phone a nice texture to the touch.

My Mi 5 currently sport an similar one but with a leather feel to it.

Edit: Forgot to mention used registered post from Gearbest for covers, takes almost 2 months to get here but was worth it.

Here's my one after two months' use. The wear is mostly from my pockets:

This is the one I ordered for my old man:

It looks super sturdy and the removable bit is plastic:

Currently I am using this one, which is nice and sleek but offers not much in the way of protection in a drop: https://www.zasttra.com/products/xi...slip-tpu-protective-cover-case-black-mec5414b

I have the top one for my Redmi Note 3 and it's not bad, the bottom one we actually had for our two Redmi Note 2s. It looks tough but two cracked screens later :-( The problem is the phone actually bounces with that cover and tends to land screen side down. Also yes get screen protector the screens on the Redmi phones are extremely fragile, the two note 2s were dropped from a miniscule height and the screen shattered, the one Note 3 was dropped from less than a foot and also shattered

Thanks for the feedback :)

Just received an update, going to install now

And installed. It seems to be a 'behind the scenes' update with zero UI changes detected. I do have a smidge more free RAM available now and the phone feels a bit more responsive but that may just be my confirmation bias :D

i hope mine will have the update available when i get it. i hate "dirty" updates. i'd have to update reset and start over again.

Haha

Mi 5 user: We been having it. Sadly still no MIUI 9, even under dev, for us yet

It would appear to me that most of the Xiaomi devices struggle with low light photography. It's a common complaint that I've seen/heard. Nice Lego collection!

Yes it has way to much noise in low light, think the sensors aren't that great.

Not the sensor, they use the same sensors other phones do with really crap results.... Go check what happens with Xiaomi & custom roms. Even the Google HDR+ app shows this on Xiaomi Mi 5s example: http://imgur.com/a/aiXbF

Its like Xiaomi recon their users don't use camera's in low light or something
