Xiaomi has launched an investigation after a Redmi Note 4 smartphone exploded in the pocket of a user in Ravulapalem in Andhra Pradesh’s East Godavari district. The owner of the smartphone, Bhavana Suryakiran reportedly suffered serious injuries due to the explosion. The smartphone company said it has contacted Suryakiran and is investigating the matter.

Depends on where the phone was (back pocket) and whether it got bent and damaged the battery or not.

Still will wait for the official enquiry. Hope they don't try to hush-hush it up like Samsung.

Will have to wait and see what happens.

I think it's software. I get past this issue, by tapping on the screen and then moving the two arrows on the side of the circle, up or down to fix exposure. Works for me.

Just my luck. The note 4 is R3259 on takealot today. I delayed ordering from afrihost so I could get a special which never came. Now it does after I've ordered.

plus because of Rica i have to sign for the sim card. but i'm field based no chance i'll even know where i'll be day of delivery. and a simple request of me collecting the sim from their HQ seems like its going to be a hassle.

In my experience with Takealot, I ordered the phone on Tuesday morning, and expected it by Thursday afternoon.

Had it in my grubby little paws on Wednesday lunchtime.

Will see how things goes with Zasstra, they confirmed payment received. So now we wait.
