The Official Xiaomi Thread

It does NOT use airmail ?? then how does it cross the oceans ? by sea ? then surely that would take 3 months ?

Airmail is not the same service as Express via Air. Airmail is the cheapest service when shipping such as Hong Kong Post, China Post, Singapore Post, etc. Aliexpress, Ebay, Wish, etc all use this service to ship. It is very unreliable to South Africa due to the Post Office handling it locally.

The Note 4 is R2699

Was actually looking at the Redmi Note 5A prime. 3GB Ram, 32GB storage and octacore 2.0ghz processer. All that is an upgrade from my 2GB Ram, 16GB storage and I think Hexacore 1.4ghz

I know that express airmail is faster than Airmail, probably because they use faster on-ground handling of the parcel between flights. I was just confused when you said that Middle east express does not use airmail. It does go by air (as opposed to by sea), it just takes a little longer as it is not prioritized. But it is airmail.

The Note 4 is actually better then the 5A Prime, the Note 4 has a better screen, better processor, better camera.

Might have been my incorrect phrasing that got you confused. Apologies for that. While working with most companies that do shipping, Airmail only covers the slower method of shipping. Courier covers Aramex, DHL, etc that do door to door deliver.

lucky bastards

At least my Redmi 4A is still going strong

I want to get my wife a Xiaomi as well. Her Sagsmug phone's on its way out.

edit : First phone I've had which still have got storage space left over after a year. And I've been taking photos etc, installing apps and so on.

It is a tad slow, but not slow enough to warrant a factory refresh and a Redo from Start.

I'm seriously impressed with it.

Just a Heads up for Xiaomi users, I just got the RAIN data sim and at 1st I tought it doesn't work on our devices but I found the following.

On Xiaomi Mi 5 it had to be the 1st SIM, did not work in the 2nd slot (Slot 1 is inside and Slot 2 closest to the door)

You need to Add an APN else the internet does not work. Did not need to do this for Cell C or MTN cards before.

Add an APN with the following settings:
Name: rain
Username and password stays blank
APN: internet

Save and set preferred network type to LTE and you are ready to go.
rain

Why can I not set what my active applications are anymore on my mi 6?

The toggle buttons are there on many settings but I can't toggle anything.

Like this for example, if I hold my finger on it, it gets highlighted and I can see the toggle on/off button, but I can't do anything.

So for the guys using their Mi Band 2, what's the best app to link the band with on your (Android) phone?

From what I can see, these are the main ones:
- Mi Fit (official app)
- Mi Band Master (free + paid upgrade in app)
- Tools & Mi Band (paid only)

Don't mind paying for the app if it's good.

Mainly want it to monitor my steps, sleep, smart alarm, etc. Also don't want it to eat too much battery on my phone or the Mi Band itself.

What would you recommend?

Where can I download the latest and purest OS for my mi 6 and how do I do a clean install?

This phone is slowly starting to annoy me with its battery drain and the damn options that I can't toggle on or off.

I have the same phone but no battery drain. What options are you talking about?

Does the apn name even matter?

Read post 2494.

I want all this autostart **** off but I can't switch it off.

As for the battery, this phone lasted for more than 1 day on 1 full charge, but now it's 40% by the time I get back home from work.
