The Official Xiaomi Thread

For a long while I've had issues with my hotspot.

And tonight I've decided to sort this issue out for once and for all.

I've been using this app for my hotspot needs, on all my other 'droids it works 100% - but not so on the Xiaomi. :rolleyes:

Anyways - set the hotspot manually, and connected, and it works - for about 5 or 6 minutes. Then the connection drops :mad: :cry:

Disable wifi on laptop, then re-enable it and reconnecting have it working again - for a while, then the same issue. Lather, rinse, repeat. GAH.

Anybody who've had this issue? And got it resolved? :confused:

Maybe MIUI is killing the process due to battery usage or RAM management?

Go to Settings -> Installed Apps -> Hotspot Manager -> then under battery saver, select No restrictions. Also, with it running, tap the multitask button (usually your left hardware button), find the app and drag it down to lock it in memory (a little lock icon should show)

I am also trying to contact them. left them 2 emails, tried thaht chat online thing that doesn't seem to work and can't get any contact number. I need to replace my cracked screen.
 
Being charged R1058.87? Surely crazy.

Who charges clearance etc?

Possibly but why not buy it prepaid on a cc. Same thing as on a contract you're paying the device fees separately anyway.

No, I don't know what happened, they used to have their phones available on contract, that's how I got my first Xiaomi phone.

How can I challenge Aramex as they claim their clearance fees standard.
 
Does anyone know how to enable the second sim slot?
I purchased a Vodacom "branded" Note 4 and the second sim has been disabled. I updated the phone to latest version but the sim is still deactivated. Any advice?

Install another rom? Vodacom never offer dual sim

Yes I know. I have to unfortunately wait 72 hours to unlock my bootloader before I can load another rom.
I updated the phone by putting the MIUI rom in the "downloaded rom" folder and updated but the sim is still not available.
 
Where did you get this phone from? I see the Note 4 is not being sold at Takealot and MIA.
 
My 2 year old Mi4W just died on me tonight... :-(

Doesn't charge at all when I put in the charger/pc usb
Doesn't fastboot as well..

Paperweight.

Did anyone have their xiaomi phones die on them?

I bought it at Makro in Bloem today for R2300 with a case and screen protector. It was some of their last stock being sold out.
