MIUI Tip of the Day:

Do you have issues with apps force closing when clearing recent apps? The solution is simple. In the multi-task drawer just swipe down on the app you want to lock and keep in memory. As simple as that.

P.S. Drove me mad, didn't know this.

Some apps still get closed after you apply this fix. You can solve that by going to the appropriate app info and turning off Battery Optimization for it (might have change since I last had to do it)

MIA Africa has increased the price on the Mi 8, surprisingly miphones.co.za had the same Variant R100 cheaper

Hello everyone

I have a xiaomi redmi 4x with two vodacom sims in.

The one is a data sim which I have a problem with. When I am in 4G coverage I have data throughput, but when it drops to anything lower, I have no data throughput.

Anyone seen this before or had it happen to them?

I had similar issues with my FNB SIM in my note 4. Was super annoying.

Strangely , with my Nokia 7 plus - no issues.

While I love Xiaomi , they do need to fix their cellular,Bluetooth and GPS stacks to be more reliable. One thing that never worked reliably on my phone was strava. I blamed the app / android having come from iOS at the time. It Always lost GPS .

The Nokia is a revelation in terms of how reliable and good the hardware is.

Have you updated to the latest MIUI?

I agree they have some issues with the Global Versions. Wife's microphone just randomly stopped working when speaking on phone. Disabled Google Assistant. Problem solved.
Wow, that's weird. I have been having this problem since I got the phone on all the miui versions.

But haven't switched the sims around, will try that later today.

Definitely works. On both my and my mom's Mi A1's, I had the sim set for data in slot 2 and it caused both voice call and rebooting issues. Since putting the "set for data" sim in slot 1, no more issues. I struggled for months until something gave me the idea to switch the sims around.
It seems that slot 1 is more suited for data, from my testing anyway.

Ai, I'll first have to do a sim swop for my other sim because it is a micro sim and only fits into the first slot. And then I can put the data sim (currently in slot two) into the 1st slot.

Thanks for the info. Hope it does the trick.

That is the annoying part, aspecially if one of the sims doesn't have an already cut template. Frustrating man.

Damnit. After inspecting the sims properly, I see that I already have the data sim in slot 1. Do you think I must try it the other way around from your setup?
