Does SAPO or someone have a table for customs, clearance etc?

I really dont want the white which seems to be the only one available locally.
But i dont want to end up paying 500 more just for another color on the import.

Do what I did: Buy the white then buy the original back cover replacement for like $10 on Aliexpress and swop them out. So simple to do.

Here's an example of the item:

On this note, I have now finally realised that choosing a colour for a phone is stupid because of a back cover. I mean I held out for the Glacier Blue Mi 9T but it spends its life inside a grippy blue polycarb hard cover - can't even see the stunning back of the 9T!

Or just don't use a cover, and simply replace the back when its broken...(same for screen protector)

Great idea. Customs and so on shouldnt be too much on that.

The main reason i was looking at Aliexpress was The offer included the airdots. So a nice extra for cheaper than locally sold even without changing the color. The only issue now being the unknown extra costs. So might still chance it if they drop it to 3500 or less for Black Friday. As a side note the color doesnt seem to affect the price on this offer.

Why would you want the airdots? Rather get the Haylou Gt1's, much better...

Hi Guys, is the Redmi Note 8 Pro worth the buy @ R4700?

Been looking for a new phone for a while and this is a real good price, just never had a Redmi device before?

I wasnt specifically looking for airdots, it was just an extra that the local sources dont include and they run around R300+ on their own. My main motivation was the price and that store's offer was the best when the 11.11 promotion was still running but i missed it by a couple of hours thanks to work getting in the way of my checking out.

I will wait for Friday and then see if they still have the best offer or get beaten out by someone else.

Also my first try at a xiaomi. but the specs look good on GSMArena. At least compared to the huawei p30 lite which was the other phone i was considering.

So I pulled the trigger on the note 8 pro... lets hope its good lol.

Where would I get Cases/Screen protectors for these phones?

Thanks.

Sofar the only places i have seen any are also on AliExpress.
MIA doesnt seem to carry anything for the note 8 pro.
Takealot also didnt have any last time i checked.

Yeah I had a look as well, looks like gearbest also has alot of options for cases, but Im not sure how the taxes and stuff work when buying from gearbest

No, not yet.

With the customs and taxes and so on when ordering from Aliexpress i'm not sure i'd come in under the local price.
But i might take the chance if the Black Friday price is right. (That is if the locals dont also drop their price. lol)

Ahh ok, the local pricing is already on Black Friday prices. at R4699 I think it's well worth not having to worry about imports and duties etc lol.

It was on 3600 on the 11.11 promotion and that included the airpods. But yes, starting to think its best to just go for the local one and not have to stress about any customs. The problem is the covers and screeprotector which sofar is only on overseas sites. I have a tendency to drop my phone sometimes so those things are a must have

I just had a look and you do get a clear case with the phone, I will use that one and then place an order on gearbest for extra case and screen protectors, tax on that will be way less I think.
