Just ordered the Note 8 Pro. Anyone know if it can fit a Popsocket? Looks like it might have a slightly curved back that the socket won't stick to.

Otherwise looks like a great phone. Would have liked the 10, but at half the price the 8 Pro is a no brainer.

Only the edges of the back are curved so yeah you would be able to fit a popsocket. It's a fantastic phone.

I'm absolutely shocked by how good the battery is of the note 8 pro... I charged it Friday night, took it off charge before I went to bed.. It's now on 40% :oops: Pic attached

Seems it was mostly doing standby, inline with the large battery and low power soc it has ;)
Mind posting the screen on time?
 
The battery life is brilliant with the note 8 pro.
I get 3 days before I need to charge. Screen time is around 10 to 12 hours. Manual screen brightness selected.

I ordered two Note 8 Pros for my wife and myself. It's really encouraging to read feedback like this. I'm still a little
concerned about the MediaTek chipsets but I'll only be considering custom ROMs towards the end of its life and I'm hoping MediaTek releasing its kernel sources means there are good options by then.
 
I paired the phone to my Bluetooth car kit today. For some reason I cannot hear notifications and when using maps or Waze for directions, the sound does not play either. Any ideas where to enable the sound to come through the Bluetooth car kit?
 
My Redmi Note 4 packed up 3 weeks ago (3rd Xiaomi phone I have owned) and I have had such a run around from the MIA service centre that I am seriously considering switching to another brand. Sent to MIA from Durban via courier and spent almost 2 weeks in diagnostics when (after my query) I was sent a replacement quote for a Note 7. Wanting the latest model if I need to replace, I requested a replacement quote on a Note 8 which didnt arrive (I was assured I would have it by COB Friday 29th when I chased up) so I missed out on the Black Friday specials. After investigation today it transpires they won't quote me on the Note 8 until they have stock of the "service" phones. They did have stock of the Note 8 available all weekend but only for sale and not for their (loyal) service customers. After all the frustration and inconvenience I am now hunting for a similar (non Xiaomi) phone - any ideas?
 
Been such a long time - how do I change the launcer to the pixel launcher while I wait for the boot loader to unlocked?

Download it from the app store? Nova, Lawnchair and CPL are popular atm (nothing beats Nova imo)

Just bought the Mi 9 Lite from Gearbest. $246 all in for the 128GB model. Don't think the 9T is worth the extra cost imo, maybe I'll be wrong. Coming from a Redmi 4X (not the Note) this will probably be a massive jump.

I went from 4x to note 5 earlier this year. Was a huge jump in processing power. Only noticed when I jump between the 2 phones
 
Was recently looking for a new phone but needed IP67 and didn't find a single xiaomi that was IP67 approved. Did i maybe miss something?
