The Official Xiaomi Thread

Said it was "discontinued" hence the cheap price. And also the Redmi 6A was R799. Same reason.
Yeah not bad deal. Bought my mom a redmi 6 recently for R1799 (minus R150 takealot coupon), she is older than 70 and still manage to use the xiaomi with ease. The A models is bit sluggish cause they only have 16GB though.

Not really going to make a difference cause all the modern apps are big and you gonna run out of space and phone will become sluggish because of that
Phones become sluggish because of RAM/Memory issues not space issues afaik. Same concept with desktop/laptop.

Now I just need to get a battery so I can play with it.

Storage also influence reponsiveness cause apps cache to storage. Almost like virtual memory with pc / laptop
Yes. True. But that happens when you're down to your last megabytes. Not when you have 1.2GB free or even 500MB free.

Space =/ better performance. But it doesn't hurt spending a few hundred more.
Better performing in the sense of more useful, being able to install more apps. Have you seen the average app size these days, not to mention how many people take stacks of photos and some of these entry level dual sim phones use the second sim slot for memory card so if you want to use both sims you stuffed as far as expanding storage.

For one it won't perform better because all those apps will be taking some chunk of the RAM. :D :D :D

You must have misread my previous post. It is not all about cpu performance or whatever. It is about a total user experience and that is achieved though different hardware components. Just because you can run 10 apps at "full speed" on a 16GB phone does not make it a great phone. A modern 32GB phone is a more balanced device.

Also modern android improvements has battery / memory managements apps that avoid all of them "taking a chunk". If not you just install your own.

I forgot my sarcasm font dude. Anyways. Champions League now... :D :D :D

Please advise, A week ago I bought a Xiaomi Mi TV Box S , did the connection and downloaded a couple of apps. On the second day of use I started to receive an error “Video playback error” on the screen. There is retry and close, it seems to happen regularly now on anything,Dstv now, showmax, Netflix etc.
I click retry sometimes it works , sometimes it display the error again. I tried to restart, disconnect hdmi and reconnect, nothing seems to work. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
